πŸŽ‰Our baby girls first spin around the sun was a threefer.πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

Today is what we in the world (and by world... I mean at the very least me and my hubby) refer to as a threefer. As in... three holidays in one day.

Steve Irwin Glissons first birthday.
Easter Sunday.
420.

And sure... 420 is more "holidaze" than holidays but lots of people celebrate it and it counts! Mostly because my baby deserves a threefer instead of a twofer.

I digress... and get to spend a four day weekend with my babies. Since Dev and me aren't going on any far vacations this year (at least... not in the plans) we decided I would just use vacation days to take long weekends and we would do things around the house or whatever it is we wanted.

This weekend for example... I took off Monday and Tuesday so I could have an extended weekend for Steve's birthday celebration. And sure, it happened to fall on a holiday weekend, but honestly? The traffic yesterday wasn't difficult (after we had to revise our 5AM plan to an 11AM plan... effin Seven Brew) and since we got all errands done between yesterday and this morning... we're home free to chillax and do nothing and anything we want for the next two days.

And what we want is to spend all the time in the world with our babies and each other. It's a good life.

We're not big on Easter... we both used to celebrate as kids... and Lord knows we love those Reese Easter bunnies... but as far as a celebration for it? Nah. It's not really our thing... in fact, we're strange about alot of holidays.

Who said you can't live however you want in whatever way you want?

With all that said... LOOK AT OUR BABY!! She's big and loud and funny and such a cuddlebug. Full of love and ornery and definitely the apple of her Bub's eye. (Although Sparkles will never admit it... he LOVES his little sister to the moon and back... she's alot... but she's his alot). I love the snuggles she gives me in the morning and the way her back hair stands when she's overzealous. I never thought I'd be a girl mom... but I gotta say... she's my little demon princess. And don't even get me started on how obsessed her daddy is with her.  All three of us adore the shit out of her and she EATS IT UP.

Such a little ham and cheese croissant she is. I could just eat her up.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, STEVE IRWIN!! We love you and can't wait to spend the next fifty birthdays together as a family.

And in case you're wondering, yes... our family will totally have some cake to celebrate the holiday weekend and wish you and your families the best. And by cake... I mean donuts... because Steve wanted donuts and it's her birthday!

πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰Let's let all the weekends be like that one.πŸŽ‰πŸ‘½πŸ‘½

I turned thirty-five last Thursday, Valentines Day was on Friday, and Dev and me are adults... so we celebrated both on Saturday. In fact, his exact words to me were:

"I'm gonna give you extra loving for the next three days and we'll celebrate right on Saturday."

Honestly, how was I supposed to pass up on a deal that good? Besides, he always treats me like a little princess (and yes, I know how gross that sounds to some of you, but truly from the bottom of my heart, SHOVE IT), so even extra? My needy ass couldn't wait.

(Honestly though, I'm truly always living it while it's happening and forget to take pictures... and then always wish I had pictures).

We spent Thursday through Sunday hanging out, spending time together, and tattooing. On Saturday, Dev loaded me and him in the car (it's weird traveling anywhere without our pups... no matter the distance) and took me to Uranus.

That's right... Uranus.
As in... Uranus Fudge Factory (Anderson, IN).

And when I say this place was made for us... BRO. Between the amazing treats, the fact it's not five million dollars, and ALL the hilarious innuendos, I was sold. We hung out, shopped, got to see amazing art/randomness... even had icecream. We had so much fun and got the most hilarious sweatshirts.

Learned they sell fudge by the 1/4 pound... truffles by the ball (can I handle some balls for you today? HA!)... and mixed candy by the handfuls that you pick from. They had voodoo dolls and leaned hard into the alien theme. There's a variety of sweet treats but also you can get "real food" (ie: walking tacos, pretzels, hotdogs, etc.) at the same shop.

There's even a spot for mini-golf when the season allows it. Dev and me had SO much fun. Seriously, I had a ball. And we cannot wait to go back. I'm sure it's not for everyone, but we've decided it's definitely for us... we'll be going back often (if possible)... and we want to take all our visiting family there pronto.

And we've decided that we can go back multiple times so we can... eat all the foods... play mini-golf... make crude jokes while surrounded by people who also like the crude jokes... and build a collection of sweatshirts... voodoo dolls... and marbles. Oh, and also just because we want to and we've decided it can be our thing now. Well, one of our things.

It truly was an awesome way to spend my birthday... Dev always makes me feel special like that. So an entire extended weekend dedicated to just me? Sold.

A we do what we want kind of weekend.πŸ›»πŸŒ²πŸ’ΈπŸ˜

This weekend was... eventful. Actually, now that I think back on it, last week was INSANE for all of us. Not just Dev and me, but ALL of us. You, me, and probably the dude on the corner. Seriously, y'all have those weeks, right? Where you're super productive but also it feels like you have a million things to do?

Happened to me. To us.

We decided to get a jumpstart on the weekend and paid our mortgage on Thursday after work. Smart, right? Would've been if I didn't also get a case of "fighting for my life" but whatever. I also got a little update on my cousin, Shanny, while we were out that way. She's having a second surgery on my birthday and another one in three-four months. Hopefully, everything goes ok with her and she's alright as can be. I should probably call her to check in on her and my uncle.

Even with my gut being an asshole (they were in a fight and yes... pun intended) we still managed to get in a WRTTMM Friday evening and were back home in time to get some rest and prepare for the day ahead.

Meanwhile... our pups were wylin out because that's what they do.

Saturday rolled around and Dev had a tattoo appointment up in Muncie. Like the true daddy he is... he made sure I got Mickey D's breakfast and coffee to fill me up before we made that trek. While it was an all day event, it was a good time and the piece turned out AMAZING. I'm so proud of Dev and the things he's accomplishing. Also... just to put it out there... being married to a tattoo artist? Fuckin hot. Being able to be tattooed in the comfort of my home by the sexiest man I know? Also hot.

His client was actually Macey's bio-dad and since Travis had a piece on her stepmom, we got to meet that side of their family. They were SO nice and he trains Malinois's for a living... so obviously he must be the dog whisperer because Sparkles was all up in his business. Seriously, my grumbly pup that doesn't like much of anyone... ok not true... he just doesn't like men... he's a real ladies man... was ALL OVER this dude.

It was so amazing to see and actually made me a little emotional, because Sparkles has been real down since we lost Xur-Xur. Like, real down to the point of depression and we can't seem to pull him out of it. But after Saturday he seems a bit more like my old pup and it is without a doubt, more precious than I could describe.

We got home late from that appointment and successfully made our list of everything we needed to get off Amazon... and while the pups, Dev and me are now covered in all our areas... fuckin ouch, dude. Shit be spensive.

Sunday rolled around and wouldn't you know it... there was things to do. Luckily, it was minimal and we had everything done and were back at the house by 10:30AM. We headed out about 9:00AM so we could get Trudy her very FIRST oil change. She's officially almost 5,000 miles deep and it was that time. Technically, she had another like thirty miles left in her, but I'm trying to take care of her to the best of my abilities. Have I mentioned how much I love that truck? Because I do... we really do. Also... shout out to Jiffy Lube! They're not only open on Sundays... but that's where I took Doug Judy... and now Trudy. They had us in/out in like twenty minutes. Fuckin, G's.

After the oil change we filled Trudy up, picked up a few things from the grocery (this gal needed coffee, our pups needed food, and Dev needed burgers), had another Mickey D's breakfast run and hightailed it back to the house before church let out.

The rest of the day was spent hanging out and not doing anything... but I'm still somehow exhausted?
Also, now that Trudy is a bit broken in with a new oil change and a full tank? Pheesh. Fuck out of my way, because she is a BEAST.

So yeah... we had an incredibly busy weekend... we spent way more money than we intended... we're so tired you would think we haven't slept in three days... BUT it was so worth it and I had an amazing time.

I love spending all my time with my family and seeing them as happy as possible. Watching Dev do what he loves is incredible and I'm blessed to be able to share in that with him. The fact we all get to be together and can travel with him (most of the time) while he works is just an added bonus onto the ever-evolving amazingness that I call life.

And now... we start this work week over. It's all good, we're on a mission to be as chill as possible from here on out. The only things we have are my work schedule and Dev's appointments... other than that... home free!

Oh yeah... today is also Macey's birthday. So... HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MACEY-JO!!

πŸ’•My baby boy is seven years young and I'm sensitive about it. πŸ’•πŸ’•

6AM is simply too early for this birthday boy. But that’s ok… I’ll be extra enough for the both of us. Seven birthdays of being the pitifulest little pitty man in all the land. So full of love, ornery, and naps. I can’t imagine a sweeter pup to steal my blanket and drool on my pillow. You make my heart happy. We love you, Bubs!

πŸ’•All the days should be spent celebrating him.πŸ’•πŸ’•

Thirty-five ain’t ever looked so fine. Here’s to all our adventures… big and small… and all the peacefulness we share. All our birthdays, for the rest of it. Happy Birthday, Gatorbaby. I love you!

πŸ’œIf you were here to see sixty... you'd deny you were sixty.πŸ’œ

Today is Momma's 60th birthday and with that comes alot of emotions. Emotions that I would rather not deal with and so... I've decided to spend the day in happy instead of sadness.

I truly believe Momma looks out for me and still checks in on occasion (or maybe I'm just insane... two things can be true!) and she wants all the happiness for me. While my life looks different... it's because I'm different... I've come to learn and accept and try to process the things I've learned and realized throughout this year.

It's been alot... and overwhelming. And while I have many things on my mind... the fact that I still love my Momma will forever reign the helm. I can't talk about her without feeling all the things... so I leave it with:

Happy Birthday, Momma. I know you'd be just as beautiful today as you were the last day we spent together and all the days before that. I love you and I miss you and I hope... even though it's nothing like you raised or thought I would be... I truly hope I make you proud. I love you with all my pieces.

I can't wait until I can go home with my hubbs and babies and black velvet.

I don't know what's going on with me today, but I woke up in the strangest mood. Ok... not the "strangest" mood... I actually just woke up feeling incredibly sad and off. I'm not sure why, this was a good weekend and yesterday was all kinds of downtime fun.

Dev thinks maybe I had nightmares that I don't remember but still feel now that I'm awake. He may be right and honestly, if it wasn't for him, I don't really know what I would do sometimes. I can be incredibly off and he's still by my side being my true North. That man of mine... he's something only dreams are made of.

Like all the other days I feel my feelings and don't know why, I'm just making it through the day and trying to think of anything that may pull me out of this funk. Sometimes are easier than others, but all we can do is put one foot in front of the other and remember all the amazing things we have in our lives... right?

Mental health is no f*cking joke.

Judy needed new brakes. I was driving home last Wednesday and honestly, it sounded like I was dragging a bicycle. Cue my panic and pullover and then having the hubbs confirm that yes, my brakes were in fact, GONE. I can't be too shit about it though, it's the first time we've replaced them since we've had it. I've personally never done a brake job on a car and Dev has only done a few, so we were a little lost on this. Luckily, my brother is a mechanic and was able to guide us through the process (and it only took all three of us beating that bitch of a caliper in to get it right).

I called the Meineke because I was like, well, I know it will cost more than if we do it ourselves, but they're mechanics so I should let them do their job... and then dude told me "yeah darlin, stop on by and we'll get you right in... the minimum starts at $500." Now, I'm all for paying people for their services but F*CK YO COUCH THAT IS SO MUCH MONEY AND YOU ARE ROBBING PEOPLE BLIND! Shame on y'all.

Needless to say, it was a whole lot of fuck that and three hours later I have new back brakes.

Between my brakes needing changed and the flat tire I woke up to (and my "strange" mood), Dev has been driving me to and from work. And I have to say, having my hubbs wake up with me, be with me on the ride, and all that in between, a gal could get used to this spoiled little life.

We took a WRTTMM on Saturday after the brake job and Dev and I have come to the conclusion with all the traveling we do (we live in deadass city so when we do go out... we drive far away) we should definitely pick up yoga. Because these asses be ouchy. I've been collecting info on it for a few weeks (we've had this talk a couple times) and I think we'd be a good fit for yoga/pilates/callanetics. I mostly just want the stretching and maybe to build a little muscle strength (your girl be fragile), and he wants it for stretching and mobility... neither of us needs or wants to lose weight so that's not a factor we have to worry about. Just some low impact stuff to maybe make us feel better.

Now all we have to do is actually find the will to follow through with it. Pheesh... good luck with that.

Aside from that, today is my MIL's 57th birthday and we'll be headed down that way again in a couple of weeks. We can't wait to see everybody again and get to spend some more time with them.

If anybody needs me the rest of the day, I'll be trying very hard to keep my shit together and divert this existential crisis, and waiting until I can curl up with the hubbs and our pups. Because that's my safe space and I feel like I need it real bad today.

Love the life you have not the one you were expected to have.

I decided to do a little bit of reflecting for my thirty-fourth birthday.

Dani has a few quotes hanging in her office and one of my very favorites is, "love the life you have, not the life you expected to have." And the first time I read it, it stopped me in my tracks. Because I would say I live my life as an extension of this quote.

Not living the way that I expected but more so, what was expected of me.

I love my life. Dev and I have managed to fill our house with love and laughter and fun and joy and companionship. Our pups are an extension of our love, as they're our children and together we're all an amazing and beautiful family.

My beautiful, amazing, special family.

However, many people would look at our lives and roll their eyes. They would use words like lazy, codependent, barren (yes, that has been used to describe me because we made the decision to not have children), immature, shit like that.

And what do we say to those people who feel they have the right to have an opinion on it or tell us how we should live our lives? F*ck you and yo couch.

I'm so happy in my life. Happier than I ever thought I would be. Sometimes I feel guilt for being so happy. I realized I felt like that because if Momma hadn't passed away, life would look alot different now than it does. But, I think through that guilt and know she would want nothing but happiness and love for me. Just because I'm happy now doesn't mean I don't miss her or wish she was here. It just means I'm living a fulfilling life and she would be proud of that.

So to the people who don't think it's a good or realistic life? KILL YOURSELF, TROY.

I feel like we are all the other needs. And I'm sure some people would think that's incredibly unhealthy. People say shit like, "you can't only have your spouse as your friend" and others say "you can't only hang out with your spouse" and "you need girlfriends." Society thinks we should spend time apart and live by a set of standards that were developed in 1953. I say to hell with all that.

Y'all know it's 2024, right? The world is full and open to possibilities and we don't have to live the lives of the umpteenth generations before us. Sure, we can take pieces and skills and morals and apply them to our lives moving forward, but there really is no guideline to how you should be living your life. There are no set times you should meet your accomplishments and there's no one other than yourself that should tell you what is and what is not an accomplishment in YOUR life.

You want to have children? Cool. You don't want to procreate? Cool. You want to go back to school in your forties? You go, girl. You never want to step foot into another educational hall as long as you live? Don't blame you, dude. You wanna live life on the road out of a van? Me too. You want to have a $200,000 house? I wouldn't want to clean that bitch, but I'm happy for you!

See how that works? I don't give a shit how you want to live your life as long as you're not hurting anyone and being an absolute piece of shit while you're doing it. You're not hurting anyone, you're just weird and eclectic and quirky? You do you and the rest will come out in the wash or ringer.

I don't have an age where I think you should be a homeowner, or have children, or be finished with your education, or stop eating cereal for dinner. I don't even think you should do any of those things if you don't want to. You want to live in a fantasy land and fill your home with Disney and sour patch kids? You're grown and work hard for your money DO WHAT YOU WANT.

If you are quite literally winging life with $2.03 in your checking account and $30 in your savings account and trying to pay bills paycheck by paycheck, guess what? I'm still f*cking proud of you, because you're trying and doing the best you can do.

I think we could all do with extending a little more grace to those around us. Life is hard and unpredictable and there really is no reason to make another's life worse just because you don't agree with something about said person. Not being a dick, but can't you just turn right back the f*ck around and mind your own f*cking business?

Oh, you have a problem with my excessive use of the word f*ck? Blow me.

So no, my life is not what others deem to be conventional. I am me and we live our lives the best way we know how. With nothing but love and admiration and devotion for the other.

Live your life for you. We only get one and quite honestly it's beautiful in all the ways. Be free and happy... fill your homes with warmth and companionship and love whomever is going to love you back the fiercest. I know I do.

And just so you know, you don't have to wait until your thirty-fourth birthday to do it. Start right now.

πŸŽ‰ The most Garfieldian birthday boy in all the land. πŸŽ‰

Happy 6th Birthday to our pitiful little pitty, who just wants to take naps, get butt scratches, and eat snacks. More Garfield than anything, and the sweetest snuggle pup around. We love you, bubbs.

My hubby has a much younger wife... for the next three to four weeks. πŸŽ‰

On this day, thirty-four years ago, my amazing mother-in-law brought a bouncing baby boy into this world... and here we are all these years later... with me reaping the benefits.

There are not enough words to encompass all the things I wish I could say or to let people know how I feel when it comes to my hubby.

He's kind, caring, loving, hilarious, sweet, strong, dependable, loyal, trustworthy. All those words? And NONE of them even come close to touching the man. He's everything I never even knew I needed and more than I'll ever deserve.

The most amazing husband to me, the best son to his parents, the most reliable brother to his siblings, and hands down, the most fantastic pup dad around these parts.

Here's to you, my love.

I love you so deep in my bones, I don’t know how my muscles hold up. You make everything in life better and beautiful.

Happy Birthday, to the pitter to my patter.

πŸŽ‰ Our little lion hunter baby is seven today!! πŸŽ‰

Happy 7th Birthday to the pup who gets up with me, without fail, every single morning bright and early just to follow me around and maybe get some morning snuggles. We love you, XurXur.

Momma always said, only the good die young.

Today would have been Momma's 59th birthday. It'll be five years this coming January without her and life is so very different than I had ever imagined it would be. I miss her like crazy and think about her often.

I try not to dwell and get stuck in my own head these days, but find I often space out throughout my time. Days like today make me think about how different things are and it makes me relieve my entire life in my head.

Like one big extended flash scene that you would only see in a movie. Images and faces, moments and time. The good and bad... the really good and the terribly bad.

I'd be lying if I said I'm not a different person than I was five years ago. In fact, when I look back at the person I was, it's kind of hard to imagine I was there. Sure, I'm still me at my core but I'm certainly nowhere near the same.

I would love to have Momma back. If I had that ability, no doubt. Hell, if I could even talk to her from the other side (whatever that may be), I would. But, I've also come to the realization that I can't. Sure, I've always known that but knowing something and truly accepting it are very different.

Different moments, different feelings, different places in time and in your own mind.

I miss her. So much sometimes that it's still hard to breathe.

But, like I said, I'm not the same person I was five years ago. I have my days where everything piles up and gets overwhelming and I just don't know what to do... I feel broken... but once I admitted that I actually had all these feelings and accepted that they were all justified, I found some peace. Not necessarily what I would call "coming to terms with" but my wishful thinking and ever prevalent mindset tend to have a more calming effect these days.

I would say I have my husband to thank for that. While I was very much on the train of bottling up all my feelings until they overwhelmed and disabled me (I was willing to go down swinging), he made me feel like it was ok to actually feel my feelings. I didn't want to, but rather I wanted them to be or not, they were there. I had to deal or I had to surrender and quite frankly, surrendering wasn't an option to me.

I came to a point where I started just feeling ok going on about my life.

For years, I would make changes or do something differently and then I would feel nothing but guilt. Like, all consuming, can't get out of bed, existential "what kind of person even am I" crisis levels of guilt. I would think to myself, how can I even make these decisions and move forward without her here? It felt wrong and like I was betraying her.

I'm not sure when it happened. I don't recall if it was an exact moment or a bunch of little moments all rolled into one but one day I made a decision and I just felt... I don't even really know what I felt... perhaps relief. Relief that for the first time in a long time, I was ok.

Sure, I'm not what some people would consider ok. Mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually. I have my bad days and I have those moments where I'm so overwhelmed I can't think straight. I have days where all I want to do is lay down and not get back up until it feels like I should. Days where my anxiety gets the best of me and my emotions are so overwhelming I can't help but let them spill out everywhere no matter the mess it may create.

I have those days. More often than I'd like to admit, my mental health gets the best of me. I struggle and at times, I feel weak because I can't just "fix" it. I don't know what's wrong with me... sometimes it will be the littlest things that send me over the edge. But, they show up and there I am rocking on the precipice running through every single decision I've ever made in my head.

But then there are the other days. The days where I feel strong and capable. The days that I love just being me and the person that I am. The days that I cuddle with my husband and play with our pups and live my life with the mindset that I only get one and I decide what kind of life it's going to be.

I was talking to Dev the other night, and at the end of the conversation I realized that I had not only been living my entire life with my mother on a pedestal but I had a deep desire for her to be proud of me. Not just proud but I wanted to just be enough for her. I saw so many people throughout my life treat my mother shitty and just be horrible to her when she didn't deserve it. I'm not saying she was perfect but she certainly was better than what people bothered to show her.

I took care of her and had a deep need to be everything that she needed. I wanted to make up for the fact she had a less than stable childhood. I wanted to make her see that it didn't matter she had two divorces and both husbands were terrible people in general. I wanted to be enough to where she didn't worry about the drinking and the drugs that she had done in the past. I wanted to be able to make her happy and content and live the best life she possibly could while it was in my capabilities.

And I would do it all again, without hesitation. I have no regrets when it comes to taking care of Momma. People over the years have mentioned the things I gave up, the late start with others. And I would agree. I most certainly didn't live a normal adult life. My world quite literally revolved around her and anything her little heart desired. Was it healthy? Probably not. In fact, it was probably incredibly unhealthy and a therapist would most definitely have a few things to say about it. But, whether right or wrong, I would do it again.

Because she was her and I love her beyond all reasonable explanation. She was my truest friend, greatest champion, and a devoted mother. She had her flaws like everyone else but no matter the flaw, I loved her. She loved me through mine and I loved her through hers and that was that.

But after I lost her, I had to figure out what to do. Where to go. How to move forward.

It wasn't easy. Hell, it still isn't easy. I don't know if life is ever really easy for anyone. We all have our own problems and stories and whose to say one is a greater tragedy than another?

My greatest hurdle was without a doubt the guilt. The guilt of moving forward in my own way without the nagging feeling of "am I a terrible person for trying to be happy?" The guilt of needing to figure out who I am as a person on my own, meaning I had to go back and examine and think through and make decisions based on my entire life starting with my childhood. The guilt of realizing that I'm not ok with everything that has happened to me and I'm not ok with some of the thoughts that have been put in my head throughout my entire life.

The guilt of coming to the realization I had some major parts of myself that I had always been afraid of changing but felt the need to change. The guilt from realizing that it was fear of not being good enough that made me such a people pleaser and prohibited me from making decisions in my life that I truly wanted to make. And then, the guilt of realizing it seemed like I was painting my mother in a negative light when that was the furthest thing from what I wanted to do.

I lived with this guilt and if I'm being completely honest, it ate at me. Every single day for a very long time. No matter the circumstance or thought, all I felt was guilt. So much guilt that it was crippling and would bring me to my knees. I mean, how dare I have this amazing mother and then have the audacity to questions anything, right?

And then one day I realized it was ok.

It was ok to be the person I wanted to be. And it was ok to think what I thought, have my own opinions. It was ok to make changes in my life to live the life that was going to make me happy and it was ok that I'm not ok with everything. I came to the conclusion... and while this may be whimsical thinking on my part... that just because I have objections and questions to my past doesn't mean that I love her any less. I don't have to agree with everything she said or did, I don't have to live my life according to her rules or principles, I don't have to be who I thought she wanted me to be. I could just be me and that was ok. I could make the changes, and have the doubts, and propose the questions, and do the work and it wasn't for anybody but me. I didn't have to live in this bubble that I had created out of fear of not being good enough. And that was ok. There was no reason to feel guilty about it... it was just... ok.

I often ask myself if Momma would be proud of me. Because I think a little part of me will always want her to be proud of me. And honestly, the answer is always vague. Do I think she would like the decisions I've made, the ways I've changed? The clothes I wear, the tattoos I have, the stance I take with other people? The questions I ask or the opinions I'm now free and easy with? And the answer to that is simply no. I don't for one second kid myself into thinking Momma would like this from her daughter. She was amazing but she was also stubborn and liked things her way. You know that old saying "my way or the highway"? Yeah, Elizabeth Ann coined that phrase, I'm sure of it. So no, I think she would have a whole lot of opinions on the way her daughter goes about her life.

But also, as a person? Someone she just looked at and thought to herself, that's a good one? I could laugh and hang out with and love and be around that person? I think she would look past all of it and see me as a person and like me. The things I've overcome, the way I've managed and dealt, the love I have for the life I live, and the way I choose to treat people. She may not have wanted it from her daughter but as a person? Yeah, I think she would be really proud of me.

And one day, I realized that was enough for me. I didn't have to be perfect and live in any certain image. Because deep down I try to be a good person. I make mistakes and I have flaws and I am so far off the perfect spectrum I can't even see it in my rearview. And all of that was ok because I not only found my way through but I continue to try and keep finding my way through.

I thought about it and I had never really stopped to ask myself if I was happy. Sure, I felt happiness throughout my life but I had never really stopped to consider if I was happy to my core. I had apparently been in survival mode for so long that basic emotions seemed like a foreign concept to me. And once I decided that the only way I was going to be able to move forward was to try and find my happy the rest kind of just fell into place.

Am I all cured and mentally stable? Nope. But am I happy and trying my best? Yes. And yeah, that's enough.

With all that being said, I feel like I should say I do think Momma is with me on the regular. Whether she approves or not, she's there. Like she always was. Today on my way home for lunch, while driving through an intersection, a woman ran a red light and almost hit me. At the last minute the car in front of me decided to hit their brakes and turn left and therefore, took the hit to their front instead of what would have been my drivers side door. And I can't help but to think, if that wasn't Momma, it sure as hell is a coincidence that I got that "lucky" on her birthday.

Happy Birthday, Momma. I love you so much it hurts and I miss you every single day. I sure do hope my Tayder is keeping you in good company and you're as happy and feel as amazing as you possibly can. Because you deserve it. Any and everything I could never give, you deserve. That and so much more. Don't worry about me, I'm tough as nails and we both know you didn't raise no quitter (and if you did, it was definitely my brother). Thanks for keeping an eye out for me and I'll continue to try and be happy. Because I know no matter what, you always wanted that for me. I love you, Momma.

I don't know about you, but I'm feeling 22. ❤️❤️πŸŽ‰ *insert emotions*

Twenty-two years ago today, this little guy was born and I have to say, getting to be his mama has been one of the very happiest things of my entire life. From his grumbly kisses to his meerkat habits, he’s truly a gift from something greater than myself. Happy Birthday, to my little baby and eternal soft spot, Tayderbug!

If my babies could quit growing up on me, that would be great. πŸŽ‰πŸ§‘

Our youngest guy turned five today and according to his dad, demanded cake at 7:30 this morning.

Happy Birthday, Sparkles! You may be a big ole mess, but you're my big ole mess and I wouldn't trade your sleepy ass for anything in the world!

Now when you tell people you're thirty-three, it'll be the truth.

I mean… thirty-three years ago (even though you've been telling people you're thirty-three for the last year) today you were brought into this world and I’ve been lucky enough to love you for almost eighteen of them.

You are the kindest, sweetest, most gentle and amazing human being that I’ve ever met and I’m in awe that I get to do this life with you. Marrying my hype man was definitely a fantastic decision.

There's not a day that goes by you don't remind me how much you adore me and show me that you love me through it all. You are the pitter to my patter and everything good I have to offer the world is directly tied to you with a pretty little bow.

I never get tired of spending endless amounts of time with you and you truly are my best friend. There's no one on the planet I'm more open, honest, and myself with than you.

Simply put, you're it for me, baby. I'm hopelessly in love with you. I want you to know you can always remember to just say fuck it and move on, because we'll do it together. I've got your back throughout it all and there's nothing going to change that.

This evening is all about lovins, foot rubs, pup snuggles, cuddles, German chocolate cake, and YOU.

Happy Birthday, Gator. I love you more today than yesterday and somehow, even though it seems impossible, I’ll love you more tomorrow... and the day after that... and the day after that.

He may be a tank, but he's my massive little tank.

Happy 6th Birthday to our middle child who gives absolutely zero shits if he steals my pillow and mouth breathes in my face. You may be massive, but you’re still our wittle baby. You give the best cuddles and you're oh so warm. Those cute little faces you make? EPIC. You, your two brothers, and your daddy are my heart. I love you, buddy. You're such a good boy!!

My baby is officially old enough to go bar hopping. 🧑🧑🧑

Happy 21st Birthday to the best baby this side of the Mississippi!! I can’t believe how long I’ve been blessed enough to be this little ones momma, but I do know it’s been the greatest joy imaginable. I love you, Tayder.

Thirty-two bottles of beer on the wall. (Except I stopped drinking?!)

Today is my birthday and while many people do their birthdays big, around here we like to keep it lowkey and small. Just us and our loved ones. And by "us" I mean D, me, and our pups.

It's been a good and relaxing day and my husband spoiled me from Friday throughout the whole weekend. He's a catch like that. Side note, our house is currently filled with balloons, because we're adults and no one can stop us if we want a living room full of LED (and regular) balloons.

Here's looking at you, thirty-two. Please be nice to me. I'm fragile.

My pitiful little pitty baby is four today and he's just so handsome!!

I've never understood people who think that pitbulls are mean for absolutely no reason. They're not. A puppy is like every other being in life. It grows to become what the world around it and it's experiences have shaped it to be. Just like with people, we have to accept the good, the bad, and the ugly.

This point could never be more proven than with our little Sparkles. The day I met him I just knew that he was a member of our family. He was Momma's pup in every sense of the word. But, we've always had a special bond. After she passed I would be lying if I said we didn't somehow become even closer.

Spart's my baby. Tayder's my baby. Xur's my baby. That's just how it is.

And today? Today our youngest baby turned four. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go have a good cry and be real dramatic about the fact that my babies are all growing up and I'm essentially getting old as dirt and they won't need me anymore. You know, real substantial mom stuff. I love you, buddy!!
