Sometimes it's the little things in your everyday life.

Dev and I had a fairly busy weekend. We usually do, as there are few times we just get to hang out and do absolutely nothing (ie: what I want most of the time). We had a WRTTMM to handle, grocery trips to make, and another trip to see Mavis before they head out to FL this week.

I mostly just wanted to stay in bed and not move because my body is so damn sore. Apparently, thirty-four year old Katie doesn't travel as well as she used to and my left hip is going to be my demise. However, we pushed through (I make it sound far more dramatic than it really was... probably) and finished out our weekend with some snuggles and season two of La Brea.

And now we get to start the week with no errands to run and all the love to come. Perhaps I'll have Dev give me a couple more tattoos and we'll finish out our show... all while banana bread is in the air.

Until then, I'll be enjoying long drives and beautiful skies with the love of my life and our furbabies.

We did Valentine's Day early.... because that's how we roll.

D and I did Valentine's Day early this year, because both of us are literally the worst at keeping presents that we got each other a secret from one another. I don't know what it is, but neither of us can seem to get the other something and not immediately want them to have it. It's like we're more excited to give presents than get them.

I'm not sure if we've always been like this, because I just now noticed it, but I think it's safe to assume that yes, we have in fact always been this way with one another. Even with Christmas we find ourselves trying to give the other one their gifts early.... or at the very least, some of them. Either way, it works for us and we're just gonna go with it.

Besides, who made the rule that you have to wait for a certain day to celebrate and give someone you love a gift? Whomever it was, they're stupid and we aren't going to listen to them.

Also, when it comes to my gift? I knew I married him for a reason.... he just f*cking gets me.

Forever the Watson to my Sherlock. ❤️

The Clyde to my Bonnie (without the crime spree and 50+ bullet wounds). The ying to my yang. My ride or die. The Romeo to my Juliet (except neither of us are that dumb and depressing?). The Heathcliff to my Catherine (without all the incest and dreariness and death and shit). The Augustus to my Hazel. The Jack to my Rose (again, without all that dying and/or being rich shit). The Nick to my Jess. The Schmidt to my Cece.

Basically, what I'm saying is I love this dude and am so happy that I get to share this crazy walk that we call life together.

And even though I watch too much tv, and read too many books, and quote random facts to you (against your will and to your annoyance), and cook chicken wings at least twice a week, you take it all in and just love me for me. You are kind, and sweet. Generous and reliable. Loving and adorable. You're all the things someone looks for in a companion and yet, are hardly ever lucky enough to find.

I was incredibly fortunate enough to find my "person" when I was sixteen. And while we've been through alot and had to spend time apart, I will be forever grateful that you came back into my life, when I needed you the most without even knowing it.

What I'm saying is, I love you. All of you. And come October 17th of this year YOU'RE LEGALLY MINE, MOTHERF*CKER. 😘

It's finally Friday and all I want to do is drink wine and eat chicken and watch tv and sleep.

(I honestly thought about just ignoring my alarm and responsibilities this morning).

Have y'all ever had one of those weeks where no matter what you do there never seems to be enough time to accomplish everything and by the end you're totally exhausted? That's my life at the moment. And it's not even that there are a lot of things going on, but it's just that the work hours have been really long, and all of the other hours seem to disappear without a trace (you know, the ones that let you do things like cook, clean, go to the grocery store, mow your grass, watch your favorite tv shows, and sleep).

After work yesterday Momma and I ran out to get those fans and we just grabbed a bite while we were out, because cooking was not in the cards for either of us. When we got home I assembled the fans (just call me Tim the Toolman Taylor), and then we gave our house the thorough cleaning that it so desperately deserved (dust = death), did laundry and finally got to take a shower and sit down for two minutes. By the time we got all of that done and showers, it was far after eleven.

So, this morning when my alarm went off at 4:45 am (yes, I know I have to get up over asscrack early- trust me, I know) calling me to my adult responsibilities? All I wanted to do was sleep. I wanted to say the hell with being an adult (because it's the worst) and I wanted to sleep until almost noon (fat chance, I can never sleep late like that) and then eat and do little to nothing for the rest of the day. But did I do that?

NO. The answer to that is hell no. Why?! Because I have this thing called self preservation and while I'm good with filling my body full of alcohol, candy, and bacon cheeseburgers, I am not good with someone showing up at my house at five in the morning to pounce on me and drag my bitch ass to work against my will (I'm looking at you, Danielle). I figured it would just be easier to drag my own bitch ass to work against my will. Saves everybody gas money that way.

But after 3:30 this afternoon? I'm home free for two days, fourteen hours and thirty minutes. Or, 3750 minutes. You know, to make it sound like it's more time than it actually is. And I'm going to try to milk the weekend goodness for all it's worth. And probably eat a bunch of good food and drink too much (tonight). And try to talk Momma into gas station chicken (yes, I'm one of those weird ass people that loves gas station food) and a ride to DiscReplay (again, tonight- let's see if they have old school Terminator and Outsiders).

It's the little things.

Back to the ole salt mills today.

(Or something dramatic like that).

I just had 3 1/2 days off in a row and I'm not going to lie- it felt pretty damn good. Just a laid back weekend (with an extra 1 1/2 days that is) filled with nothing, but relaxation and food and family. And also cleaning, but that's hardly fun; it's more like a necessary bypass in life.

What did I do on my extra long weekend? Well, a whole lot of random things. Nothing big, nothing small, just basically whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. I was a little down a couple of the days, this cold just doesn't seem to want to let go of me, but that's what cold meds and Netflix are for. Right?!

That's what I'm going with.

Solae stayed the weekend (she goes back to school tomorrow) and Momma and I stayed in and I watched alot of Netflix (don't worry, we also cleaned and went out into public with other human beings- against my will- but it's too damn cold to be traipsing around everywhere) and drank alot of wine and hot damn. And yes, I drank alcohol while taking my cold and allergy meds, because I'm a rebel and I like to live dangerously (insert Austin Powers pun here- and if you don't get that, we can't be friends).

And with that my friends, I bid you ado. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go watch my newest obsession (thanks Netflix)- Bates Motel.
