Happy Halloween! We didn't trick or treat but I made movie munch!! 🎃

Halloween is Dev and mine's favorite holiday. We don't necessarily go all out for it or anything (but I feel like we could be those people!), but it's for sure our shared favorite.

There's just something about spooky season that makes everything that much more fun and entertaining. The candy is delicious, fall colors are where it's at, and everyday horror movies are accepted.

Well... accepted by most people. For as much as he loves Halloween, horror movies aren't really D's thing.

However, he makes an exception for me during spooky season because I'M HIS FAVORITE. Ok, not really. I mean, I am his favorite but that's not why he does it. He does it because he loves me. That... and probably because he has me spoiled rotten.

No complaints.

We usually go with Greg and Gabriel to go trick-or-treating but with Dev's health scares this year and with his mouth still healing, we decided to not be out in the frigid weather all evening (we had snow flurries yesterday... not many BUT STILL). Instead, Bub took little man to do their thing and Dev and I stayed at the house and had snuggles, waffles, and Michael Myers.

Also, I made movie munch which is essentially a giant bowl of popcorn with all the other treats (candies, cookies, etc.) cut up and shaken in.

And I have no regrets. There's something about snuggling up when it's cold out and getting something warm in your belly and watching scary movies. It's probably the nostalgic feeling it provides me but either way, I'll take those warm fuzzy feelings.

We even got on a roll and watched two of the three newest Halloween movies. It's late and I have to work tomorrow but I also just want to stay up and keep having this feeling. I feel like this is how content people feel in the creeping hours of Christmas Eve and instead it hits me on Halloween.

Maybe it's weird, maybe I'm weird, but one way or the other, I wanna keep it.

A few pieces of aimless nonsense for the day (involving my husband).

With Fall approaching, and me doing my happy dance because of it, we've been decorating and spending more time out on our back porch. Say what you will, but my vampire ass isn't a fan of the heat, sun, or bright lighting in general, so the fact that my husband convinces me to wander out of the cave on occasion is really impressive.

While I was working yesterday, D decided to cut our grass, put out some Fall decorations, make beef jerky and pumpkin seeds, and prep dinner. The man was truly on it and he makes me look like a little bitch on my days off. Seriously, when I have a day off and I'm home by myself, I usually clean the house, do laundry, and make supper, but other than that, my bitch ass tends to not do much else.

No regrets, motherf*ckers.

I've been really thinking about getting a gym membership. Now, hear me out. I know that I go back and forth quite a bit on things like this, but I think that it may be a good way to get a little healthier and maybe look a bit better. Don't get me wrong, I don't think I look terrible or anything, and my husband assures me that I'm beautiful, but I just feel like if I maybe did something like this, that I would feel much better and in turn, look like I feel better. Does that make sense? Either way, the jury is still out on that one and I'm thinking it through.

Apparently, scary movies are only a weekend thing at our house? Like, I tried to get D to watch one last night and his exact words were, "seriously?! another one!!?! I thought that was only a weekend thing!" Obviously, I have not helped my husband's phobia quite as much as I thought I had and progress is at a minimum. Update to come.

Speaking of my husband, (seriously? when am I not?), I took this picture of him holding our first pumpkin for this year on my lunchbreak yesterday. Isn't he sssoooo adorable? Yeah, and when I got home from work he was completely bald. Like, shaved his whole head and starting from square one again. So much for my Viking braid ideas. He asked if I didn't like him with a shaved head and I informed him that of course I did, I'm just used to seeing him with hair so he's gonna have to give me a minute to adjust to the change. And then I threatened to cut all my hair off and he begged me not to. Ugh, men.

What else? Oh! Another reason for me wanting to get into better shape? A tattoo. I know, I know, that's a dumb reason to do it, but whatever it takes, right? Anyway, I found this shoulder/back tattoo that I really, really want, but I think it would look funny on me if I'm built like I am now (ie: a baby linebacker). Now, I am all for body positivity and loving your true self, but I believe that applies for when you are truly comfortable in your body. I'm not. In all fairness, I never have been, but I'm trying. Who knows. Maybe one of these days I'll just be covered in ink. Why not? As long as I'm happy (and I still get my husbands motor revving), I don't see a reason not to.

How is it only Tuesday? And why am I rambling? Oh yeah, I just wanted to show everyone a picture of D holding our pumpkin.

Halloween 2019 is what some might consider to be a bust.

D has to work tonight, so the pups and I will be lone rangering it together at the house. It's weird spending a Halloween alone, but without Momma, I suppose it's something that I'll need to get used to. If that's even possible.

Usually we spend Halloween surrounded by delicious candy, booze, and scary movies, but since I'm on my own, I'll probably just end up maybe cleaning the disaster zone that I call a house, doing some laundry, grabbing a bite to eat (I can't decide if I want to order a sandwich or have leftover Brunswick stew), and cuddling in with the pups.

I'm just such a party animal.

Maybe I will watch a scary movie, but who really knows? I may just end up bingeing Hawaii Five-0 in between folding laundry (ugh) and taking shots of Fireball. Which reminds me, I should stop by the store on the way home and pick up a bottle of wine.... don't wanna have to go out again after I get home. It's cold as hell and rainy out, and they're calling for snow flurries, so who even knows if they'll be trick or treaters out this evening.

Basically, this is the first Halloween in my life where I'm not excited. But, at least there's hilarious videos of Kevin Hart and The Rock to entertain me first thing in the morning....

When there's leftover candy and you're basically a candy gremlin.

*as I'm filling a small Ziploc bag with leftover Halloween candy and putting it in my purse*

Aunt Poot: "Oh, that's so sweet of you. Are you fixing a bag of candy to take to work and share?"

Me: "....... yes..... that's what I'm doing...... I totally wasn't going to just put this in my purse all for myself."

Aunt Poot: "You're so sweet."

Me: "It's from the candy."

He hates it when I dress him up.... Halloween 2017.

Last night was Halloween (yes, it was extremely weird to know that Halloween was on a Tuesday) and this morning I woke up to head into work and it was snowing. I'm not exactly sure how those two facts are related, but in any event, I felt the need to share both, because I'm a giver, that's why.

We had 193 little ghoulies come up for the trick-or-treating and Uncle Darrell decided to start calling me "Big Fist" because apparently some of those kids got very lucky in the sense that I was loading them down with goodies. Joke's on him though, because shit turned out ok for "Stands with a Fist" in the end.

I've had a cold for the last couple of days, so my night was full of sniffles and "low key" fun, but Uncle D and I did manage to last the full two hours (trick-or-treat time was from 6pm to 8pm) and afterwards I choked down some meds, took a shower, and watched Bull (it's a new love for me, but a love none the less) and NCIS: New Orleans (we've been in love since the beginning), so in the end, it's all good.

*If you put aside waking up with charlie horses in my left leg, gagging from round the clock sinus drainage, I can't eat, and the fact that it was snowing and I rolled my eyes at 5:30 this morning.... I know, dramatic.*

But all of this is just to show you Tayder's Halloween costume and to ramble for a minute (or six). Without further ado, I present.... the Taydasauraus.
