💕We celebrated the best way we could think of.💕💕

It's been four years of saying, "my husband." Yeah, that's the good shit.
Who would have thought we'd not only be MARRIED... but also here we sit... on our fourth anniversary.
Lord only knows the amount of crow I've had to eat because of this man. I swore for the majority of my young life (like... almost the entire first thirty years) that I would NEVER get married because I didn't feel the need to tie myself to someone. And yeah, I know that sounds harsh and maybe a little cynical... but I said what I said.
It was my plan and it was a good plan. Worked out well for me... kind of. I did what I wanted when I wanted and I always had that card in my back pocket of... well... it's not like we're married? So no... I didn't have to justify anything to anyone.
(Years later, I would learn my disdain for marriage stemmed from fear... something I learned with the help of my husband.)
Except... there was a bump off in that plan. When I was fifteen, I met Dev and he quickly became one of the very most important people in my entire life. We went though it all... the good, the bad... the devastating. No matter what we faced or who tried to bring us down... he was mine... and I was his... and that was that.
We had dreams and made plans... but like with most things in life... we were derailed by others decisions.
More than a decade later... Dev came back into my life at a time when neither of us knew it would be the most heart wrenching. I still had the same mindset... no marriage... but we wanted to spend our lives together and set out to do just that.
There's always the bad... no one throughout their lives escape that... but the bad isn't as terrible with your soul standing right next to you to back you up.
Over time, it became abundantly clear to me that he was my solace. My peace... some would say my True North while I attribute the light he brings into my life to be more akin to Aurora Borealis. He is quintessentially my person and I would never want to imagine what life would be without him.
So on the day he asked me to marry him... the day he said he got down on his knee completely expecting me to say no and was so nervous he almost peed down his leg... I didn't hesitate... surprising both of us with my immediacy... when I said yes.
And since that day... I've been giddy. Excited... happy. Because instead of being afraid of what could be... I decided to embrace what actually is. And what is... is the most amazing life filled with happiness, laughter, joy, and an overabundance of love and affection.
Even Jelly looks happy that I’ve been a Glisson for four years. Happy Anniversary, MoGator. You make up the best pieces of my life and make me feel the sunshiniest. I love you so deep in my bones, I don’t know how my muscles hold up.

Three years married to my Gatorbaby. ❤️❤️❤️
When I think about the fact we're married, there are times it still blows my mind. It's one of those things where I feel like I've been married for fifty years and four minutes all at the same time... in the very best of ways.
There is no one other than Dev I would want or would choose to spend my life with. He quite literally is the other piece of me and calls to my soul on an ethereal level. I was lucky. I know there are alot of people out there that say that, but I truly mean it.
He's not only an amazing husband, he's also my best friend. There's nothing that we do that we don't do together. He's my homie as much as he's my love and that in and of itself, to me, is priceless.
We were talking the other night... well... I was mostly incoherently rambling but that's besides the point... and I told D how much I loved being married to him. As most people know, I was steadfast in my whole "I'm never getting married" life plan. Honestly, after thinking it through, I realized that I didn't ever want to get married because I was scared.
I was scared that I would have to fight and argue and scream and be sad and live a lonely life if I was married. Because to me, that's what marriage was. That's what I had seen and that's what I knew. I've known very few people throughout my life that were "happy" and married. It's sad and confusing, but so very true.
But when Dev asked me to marry him, I knew he wouldn't make me live that life. I knew he just wanted me to be happy and healthy and to take care of each other and love each other as much as possible for however long was possible.
And that was a deal worth making.
He calls to my soul, makes everything feel better when he wraps me up, and truly is the greatest piece of myself I have to offer the world.
Happy Anniversary, my love. I know life is crazy and once again we're spending our anniversary in an unusual and unhip way (ah, the life of being an adult with health issues), but there's truly no one on this entire planet that could make me feel the way you do. You're my heart, my rock, my calm, and my storm. You're all the best of me stacked into one delicious 6'3 package and I'm so grateful that we found each other.
I love you so deep in my bones, I don't know how my muscles hold up.

One year and all of the love and shenanigans that make our lives ours.
One year ago today, I married the love of my life, and it's been a hell of a ride ever since.
D and I decided to take an extended weekend for our first anniversary. We never have gone on a honeymoon (Covid) and honestly, we just prefer to stay at our own house. So, we decided that we would take off Friday and Monday so that we could spend four whole days together.
Now, being locked in a house with someone (and I say it like that, because I literally lock the doors at our house constantly.... you would think I have people stalking me or something, but no, I'm just naturally paranoid 24/7) continuously might not sound like fun for some people, but I can assure you that it is.
Afterall, D is my best friend.
Now, hear me out. I know a lot of people say their significant other is their best friend, because they love them SO much. However, this is not me being emotional or trying to get an aww. The truth is, I literally married my best friend. He's pretty much the only person I hang out with, talk to, do activities with, chill with.... and now that I'm saying it, it sounds like we're very codependent on one another.
Oh well, you live trying to be happy. I have absolutely no regrets with the fact that my husband is my bestie and lover all wrapped up into one pretty/6'3/ass like an apple package. And he's known me since we were fifteen, so he's literally seen me look my very best to absolute shit within two hours of each other. #Anxiety
So, what did we/are we doing for our big weekend? Well.... absolutely not shit. And that's kind of the point. We were responsible adults and did all of our running and errands on Friday so that we wouldn't have to go out after that. We've done a couple of house projects that we've been meaning to do, mostly just deep cleaning the bathroom, painting a little (more to come), hanging some curtains throughout the house, little things like that.
Other than that we've just hung out together, cuddled, played games, watched tv (he even binge-watched the entire third season of YOU with me), caught a buzz or two, cooked together, and basically have spent all the time with our pups and each other. We even made a fancy anniversary dinner together. And when I say fancy, I mean D grilled some filet mignon and I made red mashed taters. Ain't nobody got time, effort, energy, or cash to be going out to fancy places and shit when we can do our own thing at the house that is just as nice.... and I don't have to wear pants.
Since we've been off, D has consistently given me his undivided attention when he isn't asleep, and let's just say that I literally thrive off of it. I usually don't like having attention on me. I'm perfectly fine being off to the side and people leaving me alone. But with him? GIVE ME ALL THE ATTENTION.
Seriously though, I know I'm rambling, but I can't believe that we've actually been married for a whole year. It feels like it was two weeks ago and forty years all at the same time. I am so incredibly lucky to have had D come back into my life at the exact time I would need him the most and didn't even know it. He's my rock, my love, my true north. Literally, my world revolves around that man and our pups and I have no issue with that. In fact, I thrive on it.
So.... here's to us, baby. We're a year in and you haven't even attempted to smother me to death with a pillow yet. You deserve some recognition and love for that, because I am A BUNCH to deal with. You're amazing and kind and funny and smart and loveable and I am quite literally in awe of you. You're simply it, my love.
One year in.... here's to many more to come. I love you.
