You just gotta keep on keeping on... know what I mean?!

Life has been all over the place lately. Between training for my new job and trying to get our house ready to sell... it's been... exhausting.

INTERESTING. I mean, interesting.

I'm kidding. Life has been good and things are great. We just both really want to be done with this "transition" period and be settled into our new life. But, like all good things... there's bumps along the way.

Working from home though? I could definitely get into this. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do once I have to go back into an office a few days a week, because getting up, getting my coffee and then just hopping on my computer and doing what I need to do is where it's at. It's a good time and this hub situation I have going on is AMAZING.

The job is going good too. I was a little leery the first couple of weeks... thought I was way in over my head and had made a disastrous mistake. But, everything has evened out and I've fallen into a nice rhythm. Is it alot? Yes. Do I like it? Also yes.

We're coming along on the house (Dev has been working his tail off when given the opportunity) and it's mostly getting rid of trash and finishing up the odds and ends of painting/electric/curb appeal moving forward. We had to wait until the weather broke before we could even start outside though.

Neither of us are going to miss Indy winters.

The pups are living it up and can't wait to go back South for a never-ending supply of biscuits that seem to always be in their grandpa's pocket (like they don't get ALL the biscuits here!).

We're all just ready to be on with it. And we're tired of the back/forth commute. We'll be going down again next month for another meeting I have and while we're hoping to be "ready ready" by then... we're also realistic that this might not be the last time. (Hopefully soon though!)

So yeah, that's where we're at. Still trying to get this new life we want and working our way towards it. A million things to do but checking them off the list as we go.

Wish us luck... we need this to be done! And we want to be settled.

Winter Storm 2026... what a way to send us the f*ck off, Indy.

Howdy! Welcome to the epicenter of Winter Storm 2026... Indy. Here I sit, pondering why I'm here. Not in existence... no... why am I specifically here in -20 degree temperatures when only Friday evening it was a solid 82 from where I sat?!!?!

Am I fucking insane? The answer to that question is both yes and no.

The last two weeks were spent in Florida training in my new position. Needless to say, it's been an intense two weeks. It was supposed to be one... but one turned into two because the first was so jump on the train and ride this shit out.

It's completely different... and intense... and insane... and honestly? The first week I was legit thinking I was in over my head and MAYDAY!! No worries... I felt much better by week two and now I know it's just a matter of honing in and doing what I do.

Which is adapting and winging that shit until I build a consistent routine. After that, it's just a matter of learning all the pieces and organizing them into what I need it to be to work for the rest of the team. Honestly, that first week had me way to sleep deprived, emotional, sober, and feral. After I got some sleep and substance in me, life was much better.

Now... we're back in Indy. Literally made it to the house within the hour of the snow starting and now we're officially snowed in. Walked to the corner store earlier today for pup food and immediately regretted life. Why? Because we purposefully didn't put food in our house before we went South (because... you know groceries be expensive and we didn't know how long we were gonna be gone) and we were too exhausted to go out once we made it yesterday.

We be hungry and thirsty (and dramatic... we have water, Spam, and beef jerky) and will be trying to figure out a solution to this debacle come tomorrow afternoon.

And I say afternoon because tomorrow is my first official day as a remote employee from 1,000 miles away. There's so much I want to say and catch up on but truthfully? Mama ain't got the time right now. I'm running on fumes and a bum tail bone.

This storm though? Way to send us off this year, Indy. Well played. Well. Played.

There's so much to do but I don't wanna do it but there's so little time but I'm still not having it but I'm gonna do it anyway.

Y'all... I woke up in a weird kind of mood this morning. I don't know what it is... clarity... wistfulness... a mental break that I haven't had yet... TBD really. The point is... it's a weird mood. Not bad... just... yeah.

I feel like I have so much energy that I'm gonna bust. Somehow I feel like I could accomplish the goals of five people in a six month period... but condensed into like three hours.

I also feel like I could curl up in my bed with my babies in jammies and not move for the next seventy-two hours.

Neither of which I can do. Because WTF is even happening right now.

Honestly, I feel like it has something to do with my anxiety and the emotional roller coaster I've been on (against my will BTW... get me OFF this up and down bullshit). I'm neither here nor there but I'm everywhere all at once. One minute I'm perfectly fine with the mindset "it is what it is" and four minutes later I'm damn near hyperventilating and nauseous. I psych myself up even when I'm trying to talk myself down. I know I'm being ridiculous and unreasonable and too much. I'm literally trying to stop it every minute of every day and failing horrifically. Ask my sleep schedule and appetite, they'll tell you.

Is this a snap? Feels like a snap.

Speaking of snap... there's a freeze one coming through for us. Which probably doesn't help this weird bubble world I'm living in. It's frigid and lifeless outside. Probably because we're all living that penguin life... without the body index to back it up.

It's been so damn cold... and yet I still walked out of my house without my sweatshirt on lunch yesterday and almost did the exact same thing today... how on Earth did I manage that? I even knew I was extra frozen and STILL got all the way back before I realized it... just shows you where my state of mind is.

As in... running on fumes... can't focus or function correctly... basically surviving on instinct and spite. Hopefully, this weekend is productive and cozy and amazing and everything my family and I need it to be (just us with a side of peacefulness).

Really trying to manifest that good life shit but quite literally just taking it one day at a time. That's all we can do, right? At least, that's what my adoring husband says.

One day at a time, baby. One. Day. At. A. Time.

Hopefully, there won't be many more winters spent like this. *siberian*

Has your ass ever hurt so bad that the thought of sitting in a car for another road trip quite literally makes you want to commit a felony? No? Ok... thanks for that... asking for a friend.

This past Saturday, Dev and me loaded our babies into the car and took a little WRTTMM trip. Spending a day with our entire family together is the shit my dreams are made of... but having to sit in a car for like a total of nine hours to accomplish said goals? Exhausting.

I digress... because at least we got the important shit handled and we can move forward. And by move forward, I mean concentrate on renovating our house and staying out of the frigidness that is Midwest winter.

Seriously... have y'all seen shit out there? Frigid. Unappealing. Bluck!

I only mentioned Saturday to bring up the fact that the temperature started dropping rapidly that day and is in NO MOOD to realign itself. It's been raining since midnight last night and here we are at eleven the next morning... and look at it go... strong and steady.

I read a report last night that said by this coming Saturday the wind chills would be somewhere around -14° and that's just where we are. That's not counting all the shit we would have to deal with if we go out. Hopefully, we've gotten all our "running" errands accomplished and only small "run to the store to pick something up" errands remain.

Why? Because f*ck this. It's frikkin' freezing out side! If you need the Glissons, we'll essentially be holed up in our little shoebox trying to manage boxes and paint and stay warm... exuberantly planning our future in the Sunshine State.

Side note: I received a perhaps encouraging message from my MIL earlier... so good vibes and happy thoughts out into the universe for us, please and thank you.

❄️❄️Winter finally snowed up.❄️❄️❄️❄️

There for a minute, we thought we might be skipping winter this year. It was seriously trying to fake us out. The days were warm... the nights breezy... rain in the air. It was kind of like fall... and then... BAM.

Welcome to the first snow of 2025.

Don't worry about me, I'm doing ok over here... Trudy Judy is a BEAST and I'm much more comfortable in this shit weather in a 4x4 than I ever was in anything else. This truck was meant for me.

And this weather... well... we're dealing with it.

I worked from home on Monday... not due to the weather... rather a migraine... but I also couldn't help but to look through our windows when the snow was coming down and think it just looked magical.

It always does... until your ass has to get out there at six in the morning to scrape windows and dig out your car. Neither of which were on my list... but shout out to the ones doing the thing!

Side note: Aunt Mary got me some kind of subzero windshield cover and that thing is awesome! Seriously, we unhooked it and pulled the snow and ice right off with it!

I worked here and there completing things but if I'm honest, I didn't really "get out" of bed all that much until like two in the afternoon. (The dark is my bestie). But once I did finally get up and moving, Dev and me went outside and started digging out.

And by digging out... I mean he scraped our sidewalk path... we both got all the snow off Trudy and then we took off for the open road... you know, to see how open the roads really were.

They weren't. I don't know what it is about Indy, but I reckon they figured f*ck it and wanted to see what would happen. What happened was people are insane and we all played Mad Max. Good times.

I have to say though, Mad Maxing in Trudy is a whole other level. Why? GOAT mode... that's why.

All that to say we're fricking freezing and I can't wait to get Trudy home to all my babies! We have all frigid temps this week, but it's supposed to snow again on Friday... so... we'll see. Stay safe out there, folks!

Helloooo.... from the FROZEN SSIIIDDDEEEE!!

I know that reference is somewhere between nine-eleven years dated... HOWEVER, if there was ever a time for it to make a come back, IT'S NOW.

Y'all, it is so motherf*cking frigid outside. FRIGID. Capital F through D. It was a total of -2° outside when I left for work this morning and let's be honest, it has not improved much in the hours since. Frankly, it's gonna start dropping here again in just a couple hours. Just thinking about it makes me want to wrap a heated blanket around me. In fact, I have a low tire and decided at 6:30 this morning that it was afternoon Katie and Dev's problem because f*ck.

I DIGRESS.

I have been blissfully holed up in my house with my hubby and pups on every available opportunity of this new year. Do I regret the things missed? NO. Because nothing was missed... things have been accomplished and no shit has been taken. It's been a good time.

What's new these last few weeks?

Per every paranoia the hubby and I possess, we did in fact stay inside the first day of the new year. In fact, we stayed inside that entire three-day weekend as much as possible because last year started off with a shit show and carried on throughout the entire damn thing... we weren't trying to have a repeat.

We had another visit with Baby J and he is the cutest and snuggliest little baby this side of the Midwest. Sometimes a person just needs some baby snuggles... and then to hand said baby back to their parents because they gots to get home and eat snacks.

Sparkles ear is looking better. It's still not 100% but it's looking better by the day, if only a little, and it seems to bother him a little less. Poor baby just wants to nap and eat treats and honestly... same. He and Xur mostly hang out with us and I seriously don't know what we'd do without those little assholes.

After three years of marriage, Dev and I are finally on the same phone plan. Here's what happened... when he moved up here (five years ago) he switched to Sprint (later bought by T-Mobile). I was already on my Aunt P's friends/family phone plan (with Momma) with Sprint (again, bought by T-Mobile). We've been meaning to get my number switched from my aunt's plan to Dev's for a long time but haven't got around to it (for various reasons). We finally decided we were doing it regardless because damn we've been married for a minute and it felt weird.

Last week after work one day, we loaded up in Doug Judy, picked my aunt up and headed to T-Mobile. We only wanted to have my number switched from one T-Mobile plan to another. The clerk informed us that they can no longer do that in store, you have to call "customer care." While we were there, Dev asked if he could have a couple things removed from his plan... again... call customer care because they can't do that in store.

*side note* I'm really not trying to be "that" person I am just genuinely curious. If they can't change or update or service anything having to do with your plan in store... what is the purpose of having a store? I mean, you can order a phone online and have it delivered so it can't just be that, right? *anyways*

We left and took Aunt Poot home... attempting to call "customer care" on the way and got nothing. Cut to three hours, two trips, and a bunch of dollars later and now Dev and I are on the same phone plan... with Verizon. We got to keep our numbers and honestly, that's what I was so butt hurt over because it would be such a pain in the ass to switch everything over.

JUST NO.

Dev and I got the bright idea to try new spaghetti sauces out at the store to "find a new favorite" and ended up getting one called "spicy arrabbiata" that almost f*cking killed us. That shit was so damn hot. All I tasted was tomato and heat. No spice of any kind just HEAT. We couldn't even choke down a full plate apiece so leftovers were totally out of the question. I couldn't imagine eating that shit after it set and got hotter.

We attempted to help Bonehead move a bit. We went over to his house for about three hours or so to help out but he had a whole lot going on so we did what we could and headed out. He did send us off with a shelf that's been handed down for years and now houses our dishes so fun!

Work has been crazy and going a mile a minute but that's all the time so nothing new there.

Other than that, we've mostly been staying home and snuggling in. I have gotten quite a few new tattoos as of late. I had a right rib piece put on a week ago yesterday and said screw it and had my left rib piece put on last night. Because I'm apparently a glutton for punishment or a masochist or something.

My big plans for tonight are for me and Dev to run to the grocery store (getting stuff for spaghetti-redo night) and then I'm taking a super hot shower and snuggling in. Because this gal is sleepy and frozen and not having it. Except hubby and pup lovin.

I'll have that. Happy (hopefully, let's keep our fingers crossed and put hopefulness out for the best) 2024!

It was a regular ole scene from Mad Max out there.

Y'all, it is frigid ass cold out here in these parts and my hubby and I are battering down for the count!

With the temperature being a "scorching" -10° and the wind velocity increasing by the minute and essentially making it feel as if it's -32° you could say that shit is getting a bit serious. There's snow and ice everywhere and quite honestly, I just want to wear sweatpants and thermal socks and not leave our house for the next... oh, I don't know... six months? Give or take... dependent upon our will towards the end.

D drove me into work this morning, because the roads (and weather in general) were questionable and if I'm being 100% real with you guys, it did not hurt my feelings at all to be chauffeured around in this ridiculousness.

We decided the highway was probably a better choice since it was so early and no roads had been cleared, but it didn't really matter, because they hadn't done anything for the highway either. Basically, D and I took the ice/snow covered highway with no way to see the lines and we hauled ass and were all over the place.

Why? Because it's not everyday you get to reenact a scene from Fury Road with your ride or die quite literally right next to you. We couldn't help ourselves. It had to be done. NO REGRETS.

Also, I totally ignored the fact that I'm the one who essentially taught my husband how to drive in snow and ice, because now that he knows how to deal with it, he feels the need to take care of me that way. And I'm not arguing, because I love that shit.

We finished all the errands we had and all the holiday shit is done (I think?), so if anybody needs us we will quite literally be hunkered down in our house with each other and our pups enjoying this holiday weekend and trying to stay at least lukewarm.

Wish us luck and stay safe and warm out there, folks! Merry Christmas!!

Tuesday, November 22, 2022

The holiday season is here and we're cold. Also, breakfast.

I don't want to be one of "those people" but have y'all felt the temperature outside lately? Holy fucking shit, it's subzero. Ok... maybe that's being a little bit dramatic, BUT it feels ridiculous to me. And also, I am dramatic. So... there's that.

This is the first year that Winter has ever bothered me. Usually I love and welcome it with open arms. Cuddly days and sweatpants? Hell yes. And I have to say, if I didn't have to be an adult and go out into the world... if I could just enjoy Winter from my house... I think I would still love it as much as what I always have.

However, 6:00am Katie feels very different about the weather considering she's dealing with the frigidness in the pitch black. I'm already over having freezing fingers and having to warm my car up. And it's only been a couple of weeks. D was over it before it even began and honestly, I get it.

But... we're not gonna let this get us down. Why? Because we're fucking tough, that's why... also, we don't really have a choice considering if we want to live our everyday lives we have to deal with it.

Tomato, potato.

Thanksgiving is the day after tomorrow and what are our big plans? Well, in true us fashion, D and I will be at our house celebrating with our pups and I'm going to cook us a big brunch situation. The first couple of years I did a turkey, last year I did a roast, but this year we decided to go all out on breakfast foods.

I know it's not traditional or anything like that, but why can't it be our new tradition?

That's how traditions are made, right? Somebody just thought of something one day and ran with it? If not, then I'm breaking tradition again and doing it anyways. I was going to cook a big dinner like always, but I somehow came up with the idea of a "brunch" situation (I think maybe I seen it on one of those random Netflix shows or my little buzzed ass was Tiktoking or something?)

Either way, I mentioned it as a possibly and D informed his mom Saturday on the phone that's what we were doing when she asked, so I'm assuming that's the go ahead on this plan?

I'm not gonna lie, I'm actually really excited about it. D isn't a huge breakfast person, and doesn't even like biscuits and gravy (I KNOW and I was unaware of it until after we were married for over a year), so I don't usually cook breakfast foods. Which is insane, because it's my favorite. Sure, we'll have pancakes for dinner or something on occasion, or we might stop at Pana and pick up some donuts, but mostly we just don't have breakfast.

This time though? Y'all better be prepared because I am going all out. If I only get a giant breakfast spread once a damn year you best believe it's going to have EVERYTHING. Ok... maybe not everything. But, it will have all the shit we like.

And honestly, isn't that and being with people you love the most in the world the whole point of the holidays? Hence spending all of mine with D and our babies.

Also, not for nothing, but this past weekend D and I got some winter gear and I officially have to wear three layers of clothing everywhere except in our house. Therefore, when my four day weekend gets here (starting after work tomorrow), I probably won't be seen out of the house much. Unless I'm on the back of D's bike.

Another story for another day.

Friday, September 2, 2022

That was worth taking a walk outside for... my hubby always knows.

I had barely been at work anytime this morning when D called me... I immediately thought something was wrong, because it was a random ass time of the morning, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that he just wanted to share something with me.

And that something, was the sunrise.

As soon as I answered the phone he said, "hey sweetheart, walk outside for a minute, I want you to see something." And as soon as I walked out of our office doors, I was met with the beautifulness that was the morning sun.

Shades of purples and pink... blues and oranges. There's nothing quite as beautiful as what nature itself can do.

We stayed on the phone with each other for a minute watching the sunrise and then we went back to our daily lives.

With life in general, work, and the stress that daily life implements, it can sometimes be hard to see the little things and even harder to truly appreciate them. When things are down, it's hard to look up and see the light.

But, my beautiful hubby, as he always seems to do for me without fail, did take a few minutes out of his day to see the beauty and he wanted to share it with me.

And honestly, what more could a gal like me ask for? Sometimes... it really is the little things.

My husband had absolutely no effing idea what a snow day was.

Remember when I said I didn't remember Landon being such a dick and let everybody know that a winter storm was heading our way? Well, guess what? It hit. And it was a giant pain in the ass. Our area alone got 7.6 inches of snow (actual inches, not man inches) and that's not counting the two inches of ice or the 30 mph wind. Needless to say, it's been a cold last week.

It started on Wednesday evening and lasted until Friday morning. I worked from home on Thursday, so D drove Doug Judy to work, but on Friday I had to come in and D stayed home. His tires were terrible and needed replaced and when he got up Friday morning two of his tires were completely flat and one of his rims were frozen to the road.

Driving into work on Friday morning was a f*cking nightmare too. I knew that the side roads would be horseshit, but they're usually pretty good about keeping the main roads cleared. That was not the case with Landon. What usually is a 20-25 minute drive for me took damn near an hour or more and there was not one street clear on my way in. I even got stuck in our slush pit of an alley trying to get out. So what did I do? Remembered my Momma's advice and hoped for the best. I got out.

The plan was to do whatever we needed to do and stay home as much as possible. Did that happen? Not even a little bit. We didn't prepare for this winter storm and instead decided to just wing it. Probably not our smartest move, but it's what happened.

And it wasn't even for just work or groceries. D and I just had to go out on Saturday morning, because we're adults and as we all know, being an adult is the f*cking worst! Nevermind that the temperature was literally 0° with a wind chill value of -10°. Did that matter? Nope. Why? Because he still had to open the store and I had to go have new tires put on his car. Ah, adulthood. We even made the trip out to Aunt Mary's yesterday to water her plants and check on everything! And swung by Sally's to get D some new clippers and me a new hair treatment.

Tayder is hating this frigidness (I don't blame him, this cold doesn't do nice things for his arthritis!). Spart and Xur are loving it and would stay in the snow playing for ten hours if we'd let them. And D and I couldn't seem to get enough of playing in it on Thursday and Friday either. I worked from home and he got off at noon, so we had an old school snow day.

And then he had to call me out on the fact that he had no clue what you were supposed to do on a snow day, because he had never had one his entire life. Sad. So, we totally fixed that problem and now he knows how to handle snow days!

Side note: do y'all know how long it's been since I've felt the need to wear longjohns under my pants and three pairs of socks? Seriously? Do you know how long it's been since I've been cold enough to layer like this? It's been a damn minute, I'll tell you that. Even D's mind is blown by the amount of clothes I've layered on my body the last week.

So yeah, we're all good and dug out at this point. There's still some slick spots on the roads and the snow is sticking around for a bit, but we're all good. Doug Judy handles in the snow very well and Beetlejuice is a little mini tank.

Now we're back to our normal routine. We're at work. I need to clean our house/do laundry and go to the BMV. D is playing COD and trying to deal with the eczema problem that came out of nowhere. Like I said, adulthood.

Wednesday, February 2, 2022

I don't remember Landon being this much of a f*cking asshole.

Apparently, there is a Winter Storm heading our way and to say that I am less than thrilled would be an understatement. Winter Storm Landon is spreading throughout the Midwest and we have a severe ice warning starting at 1:00am today and lasting until Friday. What. The. Fuck?!!?!

2022 is holding no f*cking prisoners and the survival rate may look more Resident Evil: Extinction than we would be comfortable with.

Our current location is expecting 0.25-0.50" of ice and then another 1-2" of snow on top of that. They're calling for so much ice, snow, sleet, and rain that I'm really regretting the fact that I don't have my generators and survivalist's gear from back home.

And does that mean we are all currently hunkered down in our homes with supplies and rations? Nope. We're all out and at work, because being an adult is the worst and the economy gives literally zero shits if we're risking our necks to try and get by. I'm just seriously praying that it blows over us and we don't get even a little bit of the shit they're calling for. *fingers crossed*

The illness that is 2022. And yes, I'm talking about the whole year already. *dumpster fire*

Y'all, I try not to complain too much. Sure, I joke around about little inconvenient things here and there, but it's usually all in good fun and humor. However, to say that this year has already got me trying to cower in the corner and stay hidden somewhere would be an understatement.

It's literally been whooping my ass. And we're only twenty-six days in.

Ouch.

The first thing to happen in 2022 was the fact I had to replace Ricardo. Don't get me wrong, I love Doug Judy. I do. And sure, it was probably time for me to update in the vehicle department, but damn! It would've been nice to be able to come to that decision with my husband instead of being forced into it.

Then, I lost a tooth. And not just a random back tooth. NO. My second front tooth on my left side? Gone. Nadda. Zilch. D and I were talking one night and then all of the sudden my tooth broke and I spit it out. I shit you not. The next day I had to go into the dentist and have him pull the remaining tooth so that it wouldn't break more. Did I get a partial yet? Nope. Apparently, the other five times that I've had my six front teeth fixed means absolutely nothing and they all need replaced. So for now, I'm rocking not having a front tooth. And yeah, I look like a Hilljack as much as I sound like one now.

Finally, (and I say finally, because please let this be the last thing bad to happen, I'm begging you!!) I have been so f*cking sick for the last few days that I honestly just wanted somebody to throw me in the trash. I'm a suffer in silence type of gal. When I'm sick I want to be left alone, take long showers, and talk to no one. This time though? Damn. D asked me on Monday night if he needed to take me to the ER and it was honestly the first time in my life where I almost said yes. It was horrible. Still don't know if it was food poisoning or Covid, but I'm being tested tomorrow and honestly, I don't care which it was as long as I don't get my hubby or pups (or anyone else!) sick too.

Also, it's zero degrees outside with a wind-chill of -20. You know your girl likes cold weather, hell sometimes downright frigid, but damn. I don't like having to see all my babies freeze every time they need to go outside. (D included).

So yeah, that's where I'm at twenty-six days into the new year. Just trying to get by and not make waves. I'm somewhere between paranoid and a nuclear mental break. Honestly? I just feel exhausted and want to curl up in the bed with my pups and hubs and stay there. And yeah, I've been doing that, because I'm sick, but I still don't feel 100% so I could still go for it.

May the odds be ever in your favor.

I love the fact that freezing weather still blows my hubby’s mind. 😂🥶❤️

My husband was born and bred in Florida. The man is a redneck if I've ever seen one (and that's saying something, because I come from a long line and life of hillbillies) and I swear we're like kindred spirits. You know, me being from the regular holler, him being from the swamp holler.

It works. No one ever thought he would leave the state, but then he drove 1,000 miles to be with me and never looked back (his words, not mine). Even though that was over three years ago (what?!), the fact that he has not acclimated to the frigid weather up this way is still prevalent.

But, like the champ he is, he takes it all in stride and bundles up before going outside. And let's be honest, with it being as cold as it has been, layers are a gals (and guys) best friend! Says the woman wearing two pairs of socks today.... moving on.

Wednesday, November 17, 2021

Call it the holler in me, but I don't trust it.

**5:30am**

D: "Wait until you feel the weather outside. It warmed up and it's nice."

**6:45am**

Me: *walks outside, feels the breeze, peers around suspiciously and texts husband** "This feels like some tornado weather bullshit and I don't trust it."

Monday, August 30, 2021

We watched movies and made chicken wraps and hid from the world.

This past weekend was so damn hot and humid that it was ridiculous. Now, hear me out. I'm aware that people are super excited about warm weather and they have no desire for ice and snow and sleet.... I get it. I really do.

BUT, COME ON, DUDE.

It'll be September the day after tomorrow and I for one CANNOT wait until it cools off some. No, it doesn't have to be extremely cold weather (although, I do prefer the cold), but fall weather? With the leaves falling and the cool breeze blowing, baking, and watching scary movies while wearing sweatpants and hoodies?!

YES.

Alas, here we are and this shit is ridiculously.... well, ridiculous.

So, D and I stayed in all weekend (with the exception of a grocery store run yesterday afternoon) with our pups and we cooked together and watched movies. We watched a few things (in between my lovable husband's naps), but what really stuck out was the movies "Sweet Girl" and "Vacation Friends." They're both extremely good. If you're wanting something a little more serious, go with Sweet Girl. If you want to laugh your ass off to the point where you're clutching your stomach with tears in your eyes, definitely check out Vacation Friends.

We also made homemade chicken/bacon wraps. Why? Because when we're alone together we like to do all kinds of things, but one of the main things is we love to cook together. Usually if I'm baking, D will just stand back and watch me do my thing. But, when we cook together we both participate. We usually always cook together (whether one of us is helping with sides or cleanup and the other is doing the main thing) and we've made up some pretty good stuff over the years.

These chicken/bacon wraps though? D marinated our chicken (separately, because his ass wanted to use ghost pepper on his and I ain't about that life) and I fried up the bacon and once it was all combined and cooked through (with D using our grill for the majority of it), it was so delicious.

Seriously, I think I have drool coming out of my mouth.

Also, on a completely unrelated note, (but speaking of drool), I have found that when I cough now (and sometimes laugh), I drool. Like, full on, I have to put a napkin or dishrag up to my face, because I can't quit drooling. It's quite laughable.

We also decided to order cupcakes on Saturday from a bakery known as "The Flying Cupcake" and y'all.... those cupcakes were so good, but they are HUGE and we didn't realize it, so needless to say, we had to give some away and share, because there was no way in all holy hell that we could eat all of those.

What else? Oh, we started watching Prison Break.... and now I want to be home, cuddled up with my hubby and our pups, in pajamas, eating delicious food, catching a buzz, and laughing and spending time together.

Ah, the joys of being an adult. Whose idea was this anyway?

Allergy season is upon us and it has (so far) hit Tayder the worst.

Tayder is allergic to grass (yes, my dog is allergic to grass and it’s weird MOVING ON), and breaks out every year around this time. This year has been especially irritating for him and it’s gotten to the point where he had to have a haircut so he could be properly cleaned/medicated.

And now, he keeps mean-mugging me like shaving his butt and putting medicine on it is a fun time in my book.

How in the actual f*ck is it NOT the weekend yet?!!?! *vexation* 🤬

Y'all, it's that time of year again. No, not the time of year where leaves start changing and the air gets crisp (even though, yes, it is also that time).... the time where everything is cool and all you want to do is stay at home in your sweatpants and eat junk and drink booze and watch tv.

But, apparently that's my forever 24 hour a day/365 days a year mood? Whatever.

The point is, I have very little, if any, effort for most things in life right now and the fact that I am extremely UNmotivated is forever present.

And my keyboard at work is doing this really weird thing where the "N" key won't work and it's RUINING MY LIFE. You know, not to be dramatic or anything.

I just want to stay home with my dogs and watch tv and wear comfy clothes and drink copious amounts of booze (ps: remind me to tell you about how the stranger on Instagram thought I "looked like a freaking cool person" and "I totally enjoy wine").... and maybe finish that haunted series on Netflix?

On the plus size, it is in fact Thursday and it's supposed to rain tomorrow and Saturday, so maybe it'll be one of those "lazy" kind of weekends? HA!! I got all the jokes. Seriously though, I had to scrape ice off of my windshield every morning this week, so I think we'll just call it a draw and go take a nap. Good? Good.

Winter is coming. *time for the Midwest to do its questionable thing*

Here it is, the middle end of September and we're all standing here like ?!!?!!!!?!?!! In other words, we're all very confused.

I don't want to be one of "those people" that "totally can't believe we're already nine months in" and wondering "where did the year go?!" and all that jazz, but let's be honest.

THAT'S EXACTLY WHERE I'M AT WITH IT.

Y'all, I seriously don't know where this year has went and so many things have happened and haven't happened and are going to happen that I'm basically just a nervous bundle of anxiety over here. And don't get me wrong, I'm literally ALWAYS a nervous bundle of anxiety, BUT now I'm also confused, because WHERE DID THIS YEAR GO?!!?!

I am not alone in this feeling. I was just coming to terms with the fact that I turned twenty-eight in February and AND NOW twenty-nine is creeping up on me faster than a pair of pantyhose in a Alabama church come August. In case you're not from the South and don't understand that reference, let me just tell you, THAT'S F*CKING FAST.

Am I seriously about to be spending my last year in my twenties ever? Don't get me wrong, I don't mind that I'm getting older (I'm finally aging into my bitter old lady personality), but it just feels very weird.

It's been raining/storming on/off here for four days(?) now and the upside of this is #1: I love thunderstorms and #2: I haven't had to mow grass.... yet. Don't you worry though, that time is coming, friends. Luckily, I've gotten the majority of our stuff cut down/packed up/all that jazz for winter, so really it's just a whole lot of mowing and weed-eating. And apparently planting "fall" flowers and plants, because that's our thing now?

The season of hoodies, sweatpants, boots (even though that's a year round thing for me!), hot cider, chicken and dumplings, no yard work, cuddling with your pups (again, an all year round thing!), and avoiding people by staying in your house and only coming out when you absolutely have to is almost upon us. Of course, with that season also comes snow shoveling, freezing rain, and gloom (which I love, but apparently other people despise?).... but that's neither here nor there.
