Winter Storm 2026... what a way to send us the f*ck off, Indy.

Howdy! Welcome to the epicenter of Winter Storm 2026... Indy. Here I sit, pondering why I'm here. Not in existence... no... why am I specifically here in -20 degree temperatures when only Friday evening it was a solid 82 from where I sat?!!?!

Am I fucking insane? The answer to that question is both yes and no.

The last two weeks were spent in Florida training in my new position. Needless to say, it's been an intense two weeks. It was supposed to be one... but one turned into two because the first was so jump on the train and ride this shit out.

It's completely different... and intense... and insane... and honestly? The first week I was legit thinking I was in over my head and MAYDAY!! No worries... I felt much better by week two and now I know it's just a matter of honing in and doing what I do.

Which is adapting and winging that shit until I build a consistent routine. After that, it's just a matter of learning all the pieces and organizing them into what I need it to be to work for the rest of the team. Honestly, that first week had me way to sleep deprived, emotional, sober, and feral. After I got some sleep and substance in me, life was much better.

Now... we're back in Indy. Literally made it to the house within the hour of the snow starting and now we're officially snowed in. Walked to the corner store earlier today for pup food and immediately regretted life. Why? Because we purposefully didn't put food in our house before we went South (because... you know groceries be expensive and we didn't know how long we were gonna be gone) and we were too exhausted to go out once we made it yesterday.

We be hungry and thirsty (and dramatic... we have water, Spam, and beef jerky) and will be trying to figure out a solution to this debacle come tomorrow afternoon.

And I say afternoon because tomorrow is my first official day as a remote employee from 1,000 miles away. There's so much I want to say and catch up on but truthfully? Mama ain't got the time right now. I'm running on fumes and a bum tail bone.

This storm though? Way to send us off this year, Indy. Well played. Well. Played.

This chill weekend needs to make an appearance more often.❄️🐶❄️🐶

This past weekend started off shit but ended up nice... while nothing insane was going down, Dev and me managed to get quite a few things accomplished.

And by accomplished... I mean I got lots of pretty new ink, we set up Dev's tattoo page (more on that in a separate post), we had our first snowball fight of the year... and we stayed warm.

While most people would think we're something akin to boring, we find we don't need a whole lot to be happy and have a good time. Give us each other, our pups, and the ability to stay in our house and tattoo or hang out... we're sold.

We went out very little... had random sleep schedules... didn't wear pants... but it was all good.

Dev's birthday is this coming Friday, and while I have absolutely no clue how to celebrate it for him... I definitely want to make him feel special. You think if I wrapped him up like a burrito and rolled him down a snowhill he would think it's a grand adventure or something? Maybe I should ask him what he wants to do?!

All I know is, it's officially Monday morning and if I could go back to bed with my hubby and babies... I would.

❄️❄️Winter finally snowed up.❄️❄️❄️❄️

There for a minute, we thought we might be skipping winter this year. It was seriously trying to fake us out. The days were warm... the nights breezy... rain in the air. It was kind of like fall... and then... BAM.

Welcome to the first snow of 2025.

Don't worry about me, I'm doing ok over here... Trudy Judy is a BEAST and I'm much more comfortable in this shit weather in a 4x4 than I ever was in anything else. This truck was meant for me.

And this weather... well... we're dealing with it.

I worked from home on Monday... not due to the weather... rather a migraine... but I also couldn't help but to look through our windows when the snow was coming down and think it just looked magical.

It always does... until your ass has to get out there at six in the morning to scrape windows and dig out your car. Neither of which were on my list... but shout out to the ones doing the thing!

Side note: Aunt Mary got me some kind of subzero windshield cover and that thing is awesome! Seriously, we unhooked it and pulled the snow and ice right off with it!

I worked here and there completing things but if I'm honest, I didn't really "get out" of bed all that much until like two in the afternoon. (The dark is my bestie). But once I did finally get up and moving, Dev and me went outside and started digging out.

And by digging out... I mean he scraped our sidewalk path... we both got all the snow off Trudy and then we took off for the open road... you know, to see how open the roads really were.

They weren't. I don't know what it is about Indy, but I reckon they figured f*ck it and wanted to see what would happen. What happened was people are insane and we all played Mad Max. Good times.

I have to say though, Mad Maxing in Trudy is a whole other level. Why? GOAT mode... that's why.

All that to say we're fricking freezing and I can't wait to get Trudy home to all my babies! We have all frigid temps this week, but it's supposed to snow again on Friday... so... we'll see. Stay safe out there, folks!

Helloooo.... from the FROZEN SSIIIDDDEEEE!!

I know that reference is somewhere between nine-eleven years dated... HOWEVER, if there was ever a time for it to make a come back, IT'S NOW.

Y'all, it is so motherf*cking frigid outside. FRIGID. Capital F through D. It was a total of -2° outside when I left for work this morning and let's be honest, it has not improved much in the hours since. Frankly, it's gonna start dropping here again in just a couple hours. Just thinking about it makes me want to wrap a heated blanket around me. In fact, I have a low tire and decided at 6:30 this morning that it was afternoon Katie and Dev's problem because f*ck.

I DIGRESS.

I have been blissfully holed up in my house with my hubby and pups on every available opportunity of this new year. Do I regret the things missed? NO. Because nothing was missed... things have been accomplished and no shit has been taken. It's been a good time.

What's new these last few weeks?

Per every paranoia the hubby and I possess, we did in fact stay inside the first day of the new year. In fact, we stayed inside that entire three-day weekend as much as possible because last year started off with a shit show and carried on throughout the entire damn thing... we weren't trying to have a repeat.

We had another visit with Baby J and he is the cutest and snuggliest little baby this side of the Midwest. Sometimes a person just needs some baby snuggles... and then to hand said baby back to their parents because they gots to get home and eat snacks.

Sparkles ear is looking better. It's still not 100% but it's looking better by the day, if only a little, and it seems to bother him a little less. Poor baby just wants to nap and eat treats and honestly... same. He and Xur mostly hang out with us and I seriously don't know what we'd do without those little assholes.

After three years of marriage, Dev and I are finally on the same phone plan. Here's what happened... when he moved up here (five years ago) he switched to Sprint (later bought by T-Mobile). I was already on my Aunt P's friends/family phone plan (with Momma) with Sprint (again, bought by T-Mobile). We've been meaning to get my number switched from my aunt's plan to Dev's for a long time but haven't got around to it (for various reasons). We finally decided we were doing it regardless because damn we've been married for a minute and it felt weird.

Last week after work one day, we loaded up in Doug Judy, picked my aunt up and headed to T-Mobile. We only wanted to have my number switched from one T-Mobile plan to another. The clerk informed us that they can no longer do that in store, you have to call "customer care." While we were there, Dev asked if he could have a couple things removed from his plan... again... call customer care because they can't do that in store.

*side note* I'm really not trying to be "that" person I am just genuinely curious. If they can't change or update or service anything having to do with your plan in store... what is the purpose of having a store? I mean, you can order a phone online and have it delivered so it can't just be that, right? *anyways*

We left and took Aunt Poot home... attempting to call "customer care" on the way and got nothing. Cut to three hours, two trips, and a bunch of dollars later and now Dev and I are on the same phone plan... with Verizon. We got to keep our numbers and honestly, that's what I was so butt hurt over because it would be such a pain in the ass to switch everything over.

JUST NO.

Dev and I got the bright idea to try new spaghetti sauces out at the store to "find a new favorite" and ended up getting one called "spicy arrabbiata" that almost f*cking killed us. That shit was so damn hot. All I tasted was tomato and heat. No spice of any kind just HEAT. We couldn't even choke down a full plate apiece so leftovers were totally out of the question. I couldn't imagine eating that shit after it set and got hotter.

We attempted to help Bonehead move a bit. We went over to his house for about three hours or so to help out but he had a whole lot going on so we did what we could and headed out. He did send us off with a shelf that's been handed down for years and now houses our dishes so fun!

Work has been crazy and going a mile a minute but that's all the time so nothing new there.

Other than that, we've mostly been staying home and snuggling in. I have gotten quite a few new tattoos as of late. I had a right rib piece put on a week ago yesterday and said screw it and had my left rib piece put on last night. Because I'm apparently a glutton for punishment or a masochist or something.

My big plans for tonight are for me and Dev to run to the grocery store (getting stuff for spaghetti-redo night) and then I'm taking a super hot shower and snuggling in. Because this gal is sleepy and frozen and not having it. Except hubby and pup lovin.

I'll have that. Happy (hopefully, let's keep our fingers crossed and put hopefulness out for the best) 2024!

It was a regular ole scene from Mad Max out there.

Y'all, it is frigid ass cold out here in these parts and my hubby and I are battering down for the count!

With the temperature being a "scorching" -10° and the wind velocity increasing by the minute and essentially making it feel as if it's -32° you could say that shit is getting a bit serious. There's snow and ice everywhere and quite honestly, I just want to wear sweatpants and thermal socks and not leave our house for the next... oh, I don't know... six months? Give or take... dependent upon our will towards the end.

D drove me into work this morning, because the roads (and weather in general) were questionable and if I'm being 100% real with you guys, it did not hurt my feelings at all to be chauffeured around in this ridiculousness.

We decided the highway was probably a better choice since it was so early and no roads had been cleared, but it didn't really matter, because they hadn't done anything for the highway either. Basically, D and I took the ice/snow covered highway with no way to see the lines and we hauled ass and were all over the place.

Why? Because it's not everyday you get to reenact a scene from Fury Road with your ride or die quite literally right next to you. We couldn't help ourselves. It had to be done. NO REGRETS.

Also, I totally ignored the fact that I'm the one who essentially taught my husband how to drive in snow and ice, because now that he knows how to deal with it, he feels the need to take care of me that way. And I'm not arguing, because I love that shit.

We finished all the errands we had and all the holiday shit is done (I think?), so if anybody needs us we will quite literally be hunkered down in our house with each other and our pups enjoying this holiday weekend and trying to stay at least lukewarm.

Wish us luck and stay safe and warm out there, folks! Merry Christmas!!

Tuesday, November 22, 2022

The holiday season is here and we're cold. Also, breakfast.

I don't want to be one of "those people" but have y'all felt the temperature outside lately? Holy fucking shit, it's subzero. Ok... maybe that's being a little bit dramatic, BUT it feels ridiculous to me. And also, I am dramatic. So... there's that.

This is the first year that Winter has ever bothered me. Usually I love and welcome it with open arms. Cuddly days and sweatpants? Hell yes. And I have to say, if I didn't have to be an adult and go out into the world... if I could just enjoy Winter from my house... I think I would still love it as much as what I always have.

However, 6:00am Katie feels very different about the weather considering she's dealing with the frigidness in the pitch black. I'm already over having freezing fingers and having to warm my car up. And it's only been a couple of weeks. D was over it before it even began and honestly, I get it.

But... we're not gonna let this get us down. Why? Because we're fucking tough, that's why... also, we don't really have a choice considering if we want to live our everyday lives we have to deal with it.

Tomato, potato.

Thanksgiving is the day after tomorrow and what are our big plans? Well, in true us fashion, D and I will be at our house celebrating with our pups and I'm going to cook us a big brunch situation. The first couple of years I did a turkey, last year I did a roast, but this year we decided to go all out on breakfast foods.

I know it's not traditional or anything like that, but why can't it be our new tradition?

That's how traditions are made, right? Somebody just thought of something one day and ran with it? If not, then I'm breaking tradition again and doing it anyways. I was going to cook a big dinner like always, but I somehow came up with the idea of a "brunch" situation (I think maybe I seen it on one of those random Netflix shows or my little buzzed ass was Tiktoking or something?)

Either way, I mentioned it as a possibly and D informed his mom Saturday on the phone that's what we were doing when she asked, so I'm assuming that's the go ahead on this plan?

I'm not gonna lie, I'm actually really excited about it. D isn't a huge breakfast person, and doesn't even like biscuits and gravy (I KNOW and I was unaware of it until after we were married for over a year), so I don't usually cook breakfast foods. Which is insane, because it's my favorite. Sure, we'll have pancakes for dinner or something on occasion, or we might stop at Pana and pick up some donuts, but mostly we just don't have breakfast.

This time though? Y'all better be prepared because I am going all out. If I only get a giant breakfast spread once a damn year you best believe it's going to have EVERYTHING. Ok... maybe not everything. But, it will have all the shit we like.

And honestly, isn't that and being with people you love the most in the world the whole point of the holidays? Hence spending all of mine with D and our babies.

Also, not for nothing, but this past weekend D and I got some winter gear and I officially have to wear three layers of clothing everywhere except in our house. Therefore, when my four day weekend gets here (starting after work tomorrow), I probably won't be seen out of the house much. Unless I'm on the back of D's bike.

Another story for another day.

My diet consists of caffeine, nicotine, and spite.

Picture this, I hobble my frozen half-conscious ass into the gas station at 6:15 this morning, looking borderline walking dead-esque, and proceed to collect the caffeine and nicotine it takes to not throw myself off a bridge at that hour (and yes, I drive across a bridge to work so it would be super convenient). The cashier asks to see my ID and once she looks at it, tells me I'm still a little baby and I look like I'm on my way to high school (you literally couldn't pay me enough money to repeat high school!). She's a liar, but now I'm pretty sure I have to go to that specific gas station for the rest of my work life.

My husband had absolutely no effing idea what a snow day was.

Remember when I said I didn't remember Landon being such a dick and let everybody know that a winter storm was heading our way? Well, guess what? It hit. And it was a giant pain in the ass. Our area alone got 7.6 inches of snow (actual inches, not man inches) and that's not counting the two inches of ice or the 30 mph wind. Needless to say, it's been a cold last week.

It started on Wednesday evening and lasted until Friday morning. I worked from home on Thursday, so D drove Doug Judy to work, but on Friday I had to come in and D stayed home. His tires were terrible and needed replaced and when he got up Friday morning two of his tires were completely flat and one of his rims were frozen to the road.

Driving into work on Friday morning was a f*cking nightmare too. I knew that the side roads would be horseshit, but they're usually pretty good about keeping the main roads cleared. That was not the case with Landon. What usually is a 20-25 minute drive for me took damn near an hour or more and there was not one street clear on my way in. I even got stuck in our slush pit of an alley trying to get out. So what did I do? Remembered my Momma's advice and hoped for the best. I got out.

The plan was to do whatever we needed to do and stay home as much as possible. Did that happen? Not even a little bit. We didn't prepare for this winter storm and instead decided to just wing it. Probably not our smartest move, but it's what happened.

And it wasn't even for just work or groceries. D and I just had to go out on Saturday morning, because we're adults and as we all know, being an adult is the f*cking worst! Nevermind that the temperature was literally 0° with a wind chill value of -10°. Did that matter? Nope. Why? Because he still had to open the store and I had to go have new tires put on his car. Ah, adulthood. We even made the trip out to Aunt Mary's yesterday to water her plants and check on everything! And swung by Sally's to get D some new clippers and me a new hair treatment.

Tayder is hating this frigidness (I don't blame him, this cold doesn't do nice things for his arthritis!). Spart and Xur are loving it and would stay in the snow playing for ten hours if we'd let them. And D and I couldn't seem to get enough of playing in it on Thursday and Friday either. I worked from home and he got off at noon, so we had an old school snow day.

And then he had to call me out on the fact that he had no clue what you were supposed to do on a snow day, because he had never had one his entire life. Sad. So, we totally fixed that problem and now he knows how to handle snow days!

Side note: do y'all know how long it's been since I've felt the need to wear longjohns under my pants and three pairs of socks? Seriously? Do you know how long it's been since I've been cold enough to layer like this? It's been a damn minute, I'll tell you that. Even D's mind is blown by the amount of clothes I've layered on my body the last week.

So yeah, we're all good and dug out at this point. There's still some slick spots on the roads and the snow is sticking around for a bit, but we're all good. Doug Judy handles in the snow very well and Beetlejuice is a little mini tank.

Now we're back to our normal routine. We're at work. I need to clean our house/do laundry and go to the BMV. D is playing COD and trying to deal with the eczema problem that came out of nowhere. Like I said, adulthood.

Wednesday, February 2, 2022

I don't remember Landon being this much of a f*cking asshole.

Apparently, there is a Winter Storm heading our way and to say that I am less than thrilled would be an understatement. Winter Storm Landon is spreading throughout the Midwest and we have a severe ice warning starting at 1:00am today and lasting until Friday. What. The. Fuck?!!?!

2022 is holding no f*cking prisoners and the survival rate may look more Resident Evil: Extinction than we would be comfortable with.

Our current location is expecting 0.25-0.50" of ice and then another 1-2" of snow on top of that. They're calling for so much ice, snow, sleet, and rain that I'm really regretting the fact that I don't have my generators and survivalist's gear from back home.

And does that mean we are all currently hunkered down in our homes with supplies and rations? Nope. We're all out and at work, because being an adult is the worst and the economy gives literally zero shits if we're risking our necks to try and get by. I'm just seriously praying that it blows over us and we don't get even a little bit of the shit they're calling for. *fingers crossed*

I love the fact that freezing weather still blows my hubby’s mind. 😂🥶❤️

My husband was born and bred in Florida. The man is a redneck if I've ever seen one (and that's saying something, because I come from a long line and life of hillbillies) and I swear we're like kindred spirits. You know, me being from the regular holler, him being from the swamp holler.

It works. No one ever thought he would leave the state, but then he drove 1,000 miles to be with me and never looked back (his words, not mine). Even though that was over three years ago (what?!), the fact that he has not acclimated to the frigid weather up this way is still prevalent.

But, like the champ he is, he takes it all in stride and bundles up before going outside. And let's be honest, with it being as cold as it has been, layers are a gals (and guys) best friend! Says the woman wearing two pairs of socks today.... moving on.

This week has been.... challenging.

Work, home, socially, mentally, physically, emotionally. Let's be honest, with everything going on in the world these days, it's not that hard to just be exhausted with everyday tasks. Something as simple as actually pulling yourself out of bed and making yourself somewhat "presentable" for public feels overwhelming. Or, is that just me?

Either way, this week has been taxing to say the least and I for one am so happy that today is Friday. I don't care what anybody says or thinks, my big plans for this weekend are to do absolutely f*cking nothing. Why? Because I'm a grown ass adult and I can make that decision for myself if I want to.

Sure, I'll still clean my house and cook for my pups (yes, I cook them supper and lunch for the next day every single night, because that's just how I roll), but other than that? NO.

I don't wanna put on adult clothes, or work in the yard, or declutter anything. Basically, all I want to do is hang out with my pups, watch tv in my a/c, and drink booze. (I know, productive and not at all ridiculous, right?) And with my brother home this weekend, D will probably be running around with him for the most part, so I'll just be chilling and having some down time.

This week has not only taken as listed above, but it's also taken a toll on my wallet. Between hospital bills (blood draw), credit card payments, and regular bills in general, my wallet is like BBBIIITTTCHHHH, CALM DOWN!! Luckily, it was all for bills and not fun stuff (lucky probably isn't the right word, but we have a house, electricity, and water for another month!), so while it sucks, I don't feel guilt for it.

So.... in a few hours, no one will be hearing from me or seeing me, because I will be hibernating (ie: hiding!) in my cave with Tayder, Spart, and Xur. If y'all need me, I'll catch you come Monday!

Monday, December 9, 2019

This weekend was full of.... nothing but also a couple of things?!?

Y'all, once again the weekend went by far too fast and here we are just hoping to make it through until the next one. It's perfectly acceptable to just wallow in the fact that our next days off are five days away, right?

If not, there are no f*cks given and I want to be chilling with my pups and watching Netflix. But, we'll agree to disagree (even though I'm right) and we'll continue on with what these people are calling adulthood.

Even though I don't sleep late when I'm off (insomnia, party of one), I like having the option of not putting on pants and doing the things. I can have my fan going, curled up under a blanket with my (fur)babies, taking shots of fireball and chugging wine, watching whatever in the hell I want on the tv without hearing exasperated sighs in the background.

In fact, D had to work on Saturday, so what did I do? Well, I was of course awake before his alarm even went off, so once he had left I cleaned the house, finished laundry (I've been trying to keep up on the whole keeping the house clean thing, I thought it might help some of my anxiety), poured myself some drinks (yes, I drank alcohol on Saturday morning), and commenced to watching Keeping up with the Kardashians on tv. Sometimes, you just need some trash tv in your life. Besides, it was the old episodes when Khloe/Lamar were still together, so they needed to be watched (by me). Not to mention, if you're day drinking, the Kardashians are where it's at.

Then, I poured myself some more drinks (are you sensing a trend here?) and finished binge-watching V Wars on Netflix. If y'all haven't seen that one yet, I highly suggest that you watch it.

(The electricians were supposed to come on Saturday to check out our kitchen/living room, but they called and rescheduled for tomorrow.... it's frustrating.)

Saturday was also Soso's "sweet 16" and we had been invited a couple months back. Personally, I didn't really want to get out (you know me and my wanting to be home 24/7), but she stopped by that morning and asked me in person if I would come and I was like fine. So, D and I went for a little bit (about an hour) and then we left and ran by the video store. I like going into the actual video store, because it reminds me of my childhood (aka, I'm old as shit) and he and I commenced to watching two movies that night and the rest the next day.... because Sunday are for rest. (Aside from me cleaning, running to the store to pick up pup food, and cooking dinner).

And, from the first movie we watched, we learned our new code word for when we need to extract ourselves from situations.... CAUL-I-FLOWER. So, all in all, I just want to go back to hibernating in my dark little fortress.

Monday, November 11, 2019

I think I'm gonna make shepherd's pie and cabbage for dinner.

I have a hard time deciding what to make for dinner most nights. It's not that I'm one of those "indecisive" people when it comes to food, but I try to make/think of things that D will also like to eat. Since he's a pickier eater than I am (he doesn't like mushrooms.... which I love!!), I usually just ask him what he wants, and that's that.

But, every now and then, I think of something I really want and I say screw it, that's what we're eating. To be honest, with my emotions being every which way lately, I've been ordering more takeout than I should, because cooking and then cleaning it up seems like a never-ending chore. Ugh.

Tonight though, I think I have made the decision. I'll run by the store on my way home to pick up dog food and wine (the essentials of my household), and while I'm there, I think I'll pick up the stuff to make shepherd's pie and cabbage. For some reason, I really want some damn cabbage, and since it's rainy and gross outside, shepherd's pie seems like a good choice.

Then again, I desperately need to clean my house, so hopefully I'll get that all done, do a load of laundry (that reminds me, I need to pick up some laundry soap too!), cook supper, and be done by the time D gets home, so we can just gorge on delicious food, booze, and watch movies while cuddling with our dogs.

Mind yo' own damn business, CINDY. ಠ益ಠ

Me: *types into WebMD* "Why do I get a pain in my back when I chug copious amounts of wine?!"
WebMD Commenter: "Couldn't you just.... like.... not chug copious amounts of wine?!"
Me: "Can you just.... like.... mind your own damn business and let me consult with my primary physician over here, CINDY?!"

D and I have been in full on hibernation mode lately. It's not even been that cold out (although he would insist that it's been freezing and I'm trying to give him hypothermia), but it's been just grey and icky enough out to make you want to do nothing but nap and cuddle.

In fact, I don't usually take naps, but today seems like the perfect day to get into it. Unfortunately, I have to be an adult and work.... and clean house.... and do laundry.... and cook supper.... and shower.

Ugh, the glamorous life that is mine. (But, in all honesty, I wouldn't have it any other way).

With all of this hibernation time we've been putting in, I've been making good use of my new(ish) Instant Pot and we've been bingeing Sons of Anarchy and Hawaii Five-0. (SOA we do together, H50 I sometimes do completely on my own.... I love it!). Our pups have even gotten into it, taking naps and cuddling into the blankets like there's no tomorrow. I hate being hot or having a hot house, so I try to keep the heat at a minimum.... much to D's chagrin.

Also, with this hibernation onset, alcohol has been a constant in my life. Not saying that I don't drink when it's hot out, but there's just something about drinking some booze while eating chili and binge watching our shows while cuddling my pups that makes me happy. Say what you will, but it's my thing and I love it.

I mean.... homebody that doesn't like to be in public or do anything that requires actual skills or effort?! That's the understatement of the f*cking century.

How in the actual f*ck is it NOT the weekend yet?!!?! *vexation* 🤬

Y'all, it's that time of year again. No, not the time of year where leaves start changing and the air gets crisp (even though, yes, it is also that time).... the time where everything is cool and all you want to do is stay at home in your sweatpants and eat junk and drink booze and watch tv.

But, apparently that's my forever 24 hour a day/365 days a year mood? Whatever.

The point is, I have very little, if any, effort for most things in life right now and the fact that I am extremely UNmotivated is forever present.

And my keyboard at work is doing this really weird thing where the "N" key won't work and it's RUINING MY LIFE. You know, not to be dramatic or anything.

I just want to stay home with my dogs and watch tv and wear comfy clothes and drink copious amounts of booze (ps: remind me to tell you about how the stranger on Instagram thought I "looked like a freaking cool person" and "I totally enjoy wine").... and maybe finish that haunted series on Netflix?

On the plus size, it is in fact Thursday and it's supposed to rain tomorrow and Saturday, so maybe it'll be one of those "lazy" kind of weekends? HA!! I got all the jokes. Seriously though, I had to scrape ice off of my windshield every morning this week, so I think we'll just call it a draw and go take a nap. Good? Good.

I've just accepted my "chubbiness" at this point in my life. *all the tacos*

Until the age of about twenty-two I was damn skinny (and flat chested). And when I say "damn skinny" I mean it.... my pants were a size 00. and small shirts were way big on me. (I never got over 102 pounds).

And then, when I was twenty-three, some things happened with my health (ie: hormones and "lady bits") and it caused a variety of fun things like adult acne, early onset hot flashes, nausea.... and rapid weight gain. Like, we're talking sixty pounds in about three-four months. It was insane and I had no clue what was happening with my mind or body.

I just couldn't seem to get it under control. Any of it. I tried every acne product that was offered.... nothing. I tried wearing tanks and shorts even when it was cold.... nothing. I wasn't eating hardly anything and yet.... nothing. See a pattern here?! NOTHING.

Hilaria Baldwin was (and is) literally smaller than me when she was eight months pregnant.

Then I found a wonderful doctor that actually listened to me. She ran some tests and figured out what was happening. And over the last five years, she's helped me so damn much. Sure, I have scars from where my acne got so bad and even still get it on occasion, but it's much more controlled now. My hot flashes while inconvenient are easier to handle.

And my weight? Well, we have a love/hate relationship. I've lost quite a bit of it (around thirty pounds), but there's just some of it that doesn't want to come off for love nor money. And you know what? I'm ok with that. I'm good with the fact that I'm not the same weight/built like I was when I was eighteen years old. I'm a full grown ass woman pushing thirty (but seriously, don't bring up that whole "thirty" thing too much) and the fact that I'm considered "chubby" doesn't bother me anymore.

Sure, it did to begin with. I felt embarrassed and missed the fact that I used to be so tiny.... and then I got the hell over it and realized that if I let myself, I'm just as happy now as I was then. No.... I'm actually happier.

If you're struggling with something like this, I say just embrace it. Because once you do, you will be amazed at how much better you feel, how much happier you are, and how awesome it is to never say no to tacos and feel good about it.

Also, flowy "hippie" shirts and baggy pants are back in style and I AM HERE FOR IT. Embrace that shit.

Of course we've all been sick for five months or something stupid like that.

Y'all.... this weather. I can't understand it and I'm pretty sure it's the reason that we all feel like shit on a semi-consistent basis.

I'm not a "complainer" when it comes to the weather. I have no problem with rain and cold months don't bother me. In fact, I probably have more of a problem with summer months than I do all of the others.... because let's be honest, I 100% have more of a "winter" body than a "summer" body. My summer body is basically just my winter body stuffed into shorts and covered in sweat.

And you know what?! I'm good with that. I have no problem with it.

Like I said though.... this weather y'all.

It stayed warmer this year than what I remember it being in the past, getting damn hot right through September and well into October. And to say that the weather has been "off" ever since would be accurate as hell. In fact, here we are in March, heading increasingly closer to April and we're still very much having to be "what the f*ck?" on a daily basis. Getting dressed in the morning is much more confusing and takes far more thought than it should. Do you wear a tshirt? Snow boots? Windbreaker? Who in the f*ck knows?!!?!

It's been windy for like three weeks, but it's iffy. It rained all weekend. Monday rolled around and it was damn hot (like, creeping into the seventies). Tuesday morning was fine, I barely even had to wear a coat into work (I leave for work around 6:00 am).... and then, lunchtime hit. And it was freezing ass cold. Like, single digits cold. And it started snowing as we were leaving work. By the time late evening rolled around, we had quite a few inches of snow.

This morning it continued to snow that really wet/slick/icy snow that makes life super inconvenient. And by the time I got off of work and ran over to pick up supper before heading home (because I'm damn tired) it was sunny and all the snow was melted. I couldn't even wear my "winter coat" home.

It's supposed to be in the forties to fifties tomorrow and Friday.... and they're calling for a winter storm/snow come Saturday. What. the. f*ck. We're all confused and have been sick on and off for months.... and I think we can all agree why. Go home, weather. You're drunk. Actually, we all kind of are right now.... OFF OF COLD MEDICINE.
